It's 20 inches long. 12 inches wide and 11 inches tall. You see the condition, she definitely has character. The bare wood was once covered with a heavy type decorative paper, most of that is gone but you see some remnants of that in places. The original label was found in the trunk. It belonged to a gentleman in Escanaba Michigan. Maybe you can reincorporate the label back into a repurpose project(maybe lacqure it onto the top side? There is leather and metal construction incorporated into this little trunk. The leather handle is broken and the leather straps are gone with just some of their remnants being in place. This is a very nice refinished steamer trunk from around 1900 or so. Here are the trunk's dimensions: from left to right across the front is 32 1/2 inches. From floor to top is 24 inches, and from front edge to back edge is 21 inches. There are some common or typical distress marks on this trunk. It is 24"L x 22"H x 17 1/2" D. The cloth part is gray. This trunk was used in the early 1900's for trips abroad. I can provide you with some of the history of its owner if you are interested. For instance. She was a wealthy single woman and drove an ambulance in WW11. It can hold 6 hats, and has a separate compartment for lady's accessories. One of them is missing its covering and shows the coarse material it was stuffed with. The one in the front contains its original hat pin, which looks like it could have been a murder weapon! This is a beautiful Antique Steamer Trunk has a very simple yet fancy design. The metal brackets are in the shape of crowns and elaborate. The wood is smooth and clean. The wood seems to have been coated with a varnish. It measures 30 1/2 inches long. 18 1/2 front to back, and is 20 1/2 inches tall. The inside is original unrestored condition. The paper is torn and missing in areas but the inside is clean and useable for storage. The original paper has artwork reminisent of days long past. This piece has obviously been cared for. Arch Top Steamer Trunk Beautifully restored. 1800's trunk. Top is covered in a crocodile vinyl, new handles made of the same crocodile vinyl. Wood has a deep red mahogany finish, remainder of trunk is finished in deep browns, finished on the bottom also. Interior is covered in a deep brown felt. Nice sturdy piece. Doesn't look like it ever had latches, does have a lock, but no key. I have been told that a locksmith will be able to come up with a key, due to the primitive nature of the lock. It also never had wheels, like some do, and no interior trays. Has enough of a flat surface on top to hold a tray, so it could be used as a coffee or end table. Fancy Refinished Dome Top Victorian Steamer Trunk Antique Chest With Key & Tray
Gorgeous Refinished Antique Dome Top Steamer Trunk With Fancy Hardware. Working Lock and Key, and Interior Divided Tray This is a really fancy dome top steamer trunk or hump back chest from the mid to late 1800's. We have removed some of the metal from between the slat boards to expose the wood underneath. This beautiful camel back chest is made up of pine and poplar base wood with oak or ash outer slat boards. The wood has been finished with three coats of polyurethane by Minwax. As usual. There are plenty of older distress marks on this trunk from many years of usage. These character marks do include older nicks and dings and some stress cracks in various places. Overall, the trunk is sturdy and you can sit on the top of this trunk without any problems in case you want to use it at the foot of the bed while changing your clothing. Here ... moreare the dimensions: from left to right across the front is 30 1/4 inches. From floor to top is approximately 24 inches, and from front edge to back edge is 18 1/2 inches. This one definitely has a heck of a lot of fancy metal hardware. None of the metal on this trunk is brass, so we have therefore brush painted the metal parts by hand in black and gold leaf. If you have been waiting for a flashy, fancy dome top, then here it is. There are patent dates on some of the cap metal. It looks like March of 1880. We have shown a close up picture of one of these dates on this trunk. This gorgeous trunk comes with the original working lock. There appears to be a patent date on the key hole cover, although it is difficult to see the year. It does have April abbreviated. We did match up a key that works with this lock. The engagement prong on this lock has been pried open in the past, but it still engages with the upper part ok. The front latches work properly since the springs are intact. These nice front latches are off of a parts trunk which should date back to nearly the same time that this trunk was made. 1800's Antique Victorian Style Steamer Trunk. This truck is in VERY good conition with all original metal edging. Caps, latches, locks and trim There is no key for this piece. It has the original 4 metal coasters on the bottom and are in great shape also. The only issue I have seen is that the leather straps and 1 handle will need to be replaced. This beautiful French Vellum Trunk. With its incredible character and elegance, sailed on the Queen Elizabeth from New York to an unknown destination. Measuring 35" long, 20 1/2" wide, and 13 1/2" deep, the exterior has the original solid wood banding and polished chrome latches and hardware. Engraved on the lock is the word"Surete" which is french for"security" Its edges are protected with original rawhide trim secured by silver nail heads. There is a wonderful original vintage tag from the Cunard Line and an old travel decal. Circa 1920's. This French Trunk is in good condition with minimal wear from age and use. The interior has 2 working cloth straps and is clean with no issues or musty smell. The trunk has the original leather handles, but one has a split in part of the leather. Antique Vintage Small Child Size Travel Steamer Trunk w/ Tray & Key
A recent estate sale purchase. A small child's size travel/ steamer trunk complete with a tray and a key. This trunk measures approximately 22" long X 14" wide X 15 1/2" high and it has two hinges in back that hold the lid securely to the base. There used to be sturdy leather handles on each side of the trunk but they are no longer intact, these can be purchased inexpensively on-line and they're fairly easy to replace. The corner protectors and hardware appear to be brass plated steel. There are two hasp type closures, one on each side of the lock and the lock needs to be bent just a little to close it securely. We tried the key and the locking mechanism seems to work properly but we didn't want to damage anything so it will arrive open with the key tucked in an envelope safely inside. The inside of the trunk is ... morewood and there should be wood beneath the black material covering the outside(it is non-magnetic and we don't think it's metal) This little trunk is in very good condition and once it's restored it should be a beauty- perfect for your antique doll collection or as a gift for a very special grandchild. A wonderful old travel trunk made in Paris by Goyard. This is the perfect size for a coffee table! Measurements are 33 1/2 inches across. 20 1/2 inches deep, 13 3/4 inches deep. The initials on the side are ACK in red lettering. The brass hardware is nicely stamped. There is no inside tray and the back has slight damage. A split line in the pattern design. The wood slats look great and both sides have the Malles Goyard address label. Inside lining has some spotting to the lower left side. Dates to the 1920's era. Beautiful Victorian Era Steamer Trunk. This trunk has been conserved or restored. Has had quite a bit of work, but the only thing that has been added& isn't original to this trunk are the leather handles. Everthing else is original to this particular trunk The trunk had 3 coats of paint that were removed from its exterior. Afterward it is was polished witha metal polish, there is still some patina, after 100 plus years it is almost impossible to remove all of that with just cloth and polish lol The paint was light green and off white. In certain places small remnants of the paint may remain. Without damaging the surface of the trunk it is very hard to totally get it all off. Also I think it adds to the already very rustic beautiful charm of the trunk. It is important to note the color variations you see in the pics on the metal ARE ... moreNOT paint. This is actually a pattern in the metal. One the end pieces I think it is patina and discoloration. But the middle piece on lower portion, and next to end pieces on top, I think it is the way the metal is made. There are little flower or star shaped medallions on top of trunk and on the front of trunk The wooden slats have been sanded stained and finished The handles were replaced with strips of 100% leather Interior of trunk was stripped of all inside paper. It has been left natural wood so new owner may leave as is. Or finish out to suit their needs best. One of the most unique things about this trunk is the locks on either end of trunk. Up for auction are four links of anchor chain from the steamer Niko which was sunk November 4. 1924. I posted a picture of the article that I found about the ship loosing part of it's anchor in 1902. These links were made into book ends and are quite heavy. One has a plaque mounted on it. The other ink has a cross member that is loose but stays inside the link. I'm not sure if the cross pieces are part of the original chain or not. Either way, this is such a cool piece and part of the history of the great lakes. Vintage Oshkosh Steamer Trunk
This 1920's Steamer Trunk is in excellent condition. It has all interior drawers and hangers. It is missing one small bar for the wooden hangers. And it does not come with a key. The drawers are in good condition with minor wear. The outside has the usual nicks and scuffs that come with a trunk. The leather handle is intact but worn. The brass hardware is all in good condtion.

It's tagged an XL; my son wore it when he was a boys' size 16. He could have worn it longer except he got wide in the shoulders; it would probably fit a girl a size up. Works for either a girl or a boy as there is no contouring and it is very stretchy. All the seams are sewn with the 4-stitch welting you see in the first photo, and the material is an embossed slick neoprene for extra slipperiness in the water. Refinished Dome Top Victorian Steamer Trunk Antique Chest With Interior Tray
Nice Refinished Antique Dome Top Steamer Trunk With Interior Compartment Areas and Interior Tray Here is a really nice refinished dome top steamer trunk or travel trunk from the mid to late 1800's. This beautiful hump back chest is made up of poplar and pine base wood with oak outer slat boards. Here are the dimensions: from left to right across the front is 28 1/2 inches. From floor to top is approximately 24 1/2 inches, and from front edge to back edge is 18 1/2 inches. The wood has been finished with three coats of polyurethane by Minwax. The wood is in it's natural patina or color which is a medium reddish brown. This trunk has a nice unique pair of original front latches that are patent dated and do work. They are"Patented July 1, 73" referring to 1873. These latches have a tab at the bottom that you flip back and forth ... moreto engage or disengage the latch. The lock is original to this trunk. It is brass. So we have semi polished it. Unfortunately, we have not been able to match up a key for this lock. The side handles have been replaced with Amish made black leather stitched straps which are sturdy. Going to the interior of this trunk, it has two nice features which are under the dome. One is the compartment at the left. We have remade the drop door to this compartment and added a nice picture to this door. At the right under the top is the original small compartment which may have held people's smaller belongings. If you look at the close up pictures, you will see the lids being held open to give you an idea of how these work. The picture above the small compartment is original. It portrays a gap in a mountain. We are not sure where of where this area is that is portrayed in the picture or sketch. We have also made a tray that rests at the top where the original one once did. The interior wood and tray have received two coats of polyurethane. The interior bottom has a stress crack or two running through it which is quite typical for these older trunks. Other than that, the interior is in

Antique Steamer Trunk w/ Eagle Lock Co. Lock dated December 6, 1892
My husband and I cleaned out a house and found this old trunk in it. The lock on this old trunk is imprinted with the name Eagle Lock Company. Connecticut Patent Date December 6, 1892. Obviously it is used. The pictures show its condition. If you are interested in this trunk. Payment it requested within 3 days of the auction ending using Paypal. The lucky buyer needs to pick the trunk up at my home within 7 days of the auction ending. I have listed this item for pickup only. However. If you would like to have it sent to you, I am willing to help you do that provided you prepay(probably with a credit card) the shipper to package the trunk and for the cost to have it sent to you.
