Let alone a half boat model like this! I would imagine this was hand made, painted and affixed to this plaque. This is very rare and may be the only one like it. Plaque measures 12"x8" Has hanger on back. Not sure how old or what it's made of. Looks like some composite plastic material that resembles bone or ivory. The hull or keel is painted dark forest green. The steam smoke stack is painted gold along with some other pieces. Stack has a symbol on it. Maybe a bird? This item is a very nice small metal flattop steamer trunk. It measures 28" x 14.5"x 18" It has the new leather handles. Someone painted this trunk red. We did not change it. The front bottom section has four paint chips shown in picture 9. Even with the paint chips this is a very nice little trunk. It has been lined inside with quilt batting and black and red floral pattern material. This is a very nice little trunk, which would make any little girl a very nice Christmas present. It has the ne leatherl handles. This is an original 1881 USS Trenton cruise book unit history- The Cruise of the Trenton in European Waters. The USS Trenton was a wooden-hulled screw sail steamer launched in 1876. The USS Trenton was the first US Naval vessel to use electric lights. Which were installed in 1883. Copyright 1881 published in New York. Full crew roster- note that Lt. Commander C.V. Gridley was a member of the crew who during the Spanish American War was given the order by Admiral Dewey"You may fire when ready Gridley" There is also a full list of the ports visited by this ship. Other crew members on this type of ship were sailmaker's. Capt. of Main Top, Capt. of Forecastle- sailing ship terms. There is also a sailor listed as the Jack of The Dust- it is a position where a sailor is temporarily assigned to food service duty. The ship also had ... morea band that appears to have been all Italian US sailors as well as a US Marine Corps guard including a drummer. There is also a sailor who was awarded a peacetime Congressional Medal of Honor for service on board the ship in 1881- John Davis- US Navy Peacetime Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient. Born in Kingston. Jamaica, he served as a Ordinary Seaman in the United States Navy on board the"USS Trenton" 3,900 ton steam frigate. He was awarded the CMOH for his bravery at Toulon, France in February 1881. His citation reads simply"Jumping overboard, Davis rescued Augustus Ohlensen, coxswain, from drowning. His Medal was awarded to him on October 18, 1884. This ship was destroyed in the 1889 Apia Samoa cyclone along with a number of other countries ships in the harbor when Apia was hit by the cyclone. One sailor died. As shown as found as is- see above condition description. Hard cover book. 104 numbered pages. Small book- 6" inches x 9 1/2" inches. You would have to look hard to find a better restored origianl Genny Lind stagecoach trunk. This mid 1800s trunk has had a great restoration including new leather straps and buckles on the outside. Lovely quilted interior. And beatiful restoration of the tooled leather covering. And it does not smell! On the interior it still sports the wood restraining flap that would allow you to fill that side of the trunk and then close it without everything falling out. See the last 2 photos Petite size approximately 20" long. 13.5" wide and 9" deep. A kind and knowledgeable ebayer just added this info. the actual name for one of these is a valise. They used to put that on many of the old labels. Such as trunk, valise, and carpet bag manufacturer. condition. Antique Steamer Trunk Extra Large Antique Kay-Sherman steamer trunk. This trunk is big. It had a black metal frame with gold hardware and rivets. The box was recently primed and faux finished. These pictures were taken outdoors in natural light which makes the trunk to it appear a blueish color. Indoor in a more subtle setting it is a more gray finish. Its ready to be hand worn to give it a more rustic look or re paint it all together. There are not many trucks available of this size. This allows you to use it as a media stand for larger tv's or larger coffee tables. The lock does not work but the truck does open and is beautifully lined. Louis Vuitton antique 1913 Monogram Steamer Trunk On Wheels Upright Wardrobe
This is a 110% authentic and genuine antique Louis Vuitton Steamer wardrobe upright trunk dating back to 1913. It's in remarkably great condition. It has all the original hardware with 5 wheels(4 on the bottom and 1 on the side) and 2 handles. The wheel on the side allows the trunk to open easily when it stands on one end. This was convenient when it was used as a wardrobe trunk. The monogram canvas. The wooden slats on the bottom, the locks, the nails, and the leather straps are all marked with LV and/or Louis Vuitton. It is hand painted and monogrammed with the initials L.J.P- it was once used as a wardrobe trunk, the tray is gone but the cedar slat is still there. The front lock says 1 Rue Scribe, Paris, Louis Vuitton, London, 149 New Bond Street, Made In France. The lock number is 039456. Up for this no reserve listing is an antique doll truck. Or ladies accessory. I'd guess this piece dating from mid to late 1800s. It measures 12" height, 14" wide, and 9"deep. It's covering is leather with a fish scale diamond pattern, and accented with tin or copper embossing on the front and lid. There is also a metal handle on each side and a lockable clasp(lock not included) on the front. All the hardware, including the hinges, is in excellent shape with great patina. The tin accents are peeling off in the corners. There are nicks to the corners and edges, and done wood damage around the clasp(see photos) The lining is in excellent shape! Adorable Old Lithographed Child's Doll Domed Steamer Trunk with its original Tray Insert Approx. 12" across x 7" deep x 7" High. Wood with detailed paper litho decorative gold. Brown, and black design of pattern and straps to simulate old trunk design. Has metal accent lock closure and brackets, but front lock was for look only and was not designed to actually work. Believe this would have been possibly a salesman sample or display piece or possibly as a little girl's toy doll trunk back in the day! No manufacturer markings that we could find. Very old with wonderful nostalgic charm! This is a vintage(not new) item and should be considered as such. Condition: Sweet unusual vintage steamer trunk toy or salesman sample in aged"played with" used condition. Is delicate due to its age and construction and has age ... moreand playwear as pictured which gives this piece its unique aged antique charm. Litho paper has darkened, worn and peeled, and looks to have dirt/moisture/age spots, as pictured. Outside litho has steamer trunk details and inside is blue and white swirling vine design. Someone has glued picture/stamps of assorted children's faces and two old US flags on the inside lid. Strap around center has worn and curled on edges. Metal pieces have darkened/rusted in places and brackets on back are loose. One of the brackets is missing one of its four stud nails. Amazingly, it still has its original paper litho tray insert, but bottom of insert has detached from two sides tearing the litho and would need repair. As this is a vintage piece, it will come"as is" and as pictured. We will leave any cleaning up winning bidders preference and expertise. This Trunk is by far my favorite find yet. It is lined beautifully in Copper and is simply stunning! It is missing the side handles and key but that only ads character! The interior has a hand written inscription stating that it was purchased March 27th. 1876 in Jordan. There are cedar planks inside that I threw in just for fun and to keep it fresh! Huge 1890 Louis Vuitton steamer trunk 43"x27"x24" serial number #15792
This is a beautiful Louis Vuitton trunk. Circa 1890. It has the lowest serial number I have seen on the label 15792. Dimensions 43" long, 27.5" high, 24" deep. The exterior of the trunk has been stained, but you can see the original striping of the fabric used on Louis Vuitton trunks at that time. The inside is the original pink stripe ticking. It does have some stains and shows some wear on the interior, but it is in amazing condition for a trunk that is over 120 years old. The locks have since been changed from the original factory locks. This trunk is very sturdy. These steamer trunks were definitely built to last. I will be happy to post additional pictures. No shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, or international.

This auction is for an Antique 1870's Dome Top Steamer Trunk. It is patented on the latches July 1. 1873. In addition the latches have a sideways locking mechanism to keep latch closed(see pictures) This trunk is in very Hard to Find, untouched original condition. It has its original embossed leather top and dark finish on metal& wood. There is a thin original leather covering on the front, back, and sides. Leather has a nice Eastlake design in the front. There is an old yellowed finish or conditioner that is flaking on the top of this leather. Seems like it may be original finish or preservative that was just put on this leather(not leather ... moreon top) I did nothing to this trunk inside or out except to dust it off. No leather conditioners or furniture polish or anything else was used on this trunk. It is as found from large Estate and looks like it hasn't been touched in decades. Someone at one point put on new hinges with wood spacers underneath hinges. I removed hinges and found that the original hinges were broken where the strap meets the barrel. Spacer was just placed underneath and is not glued to the trunk. I put replaced hinges back on so it can be used. The inside of the trunk still has its original litho's intact. The tray and inside bottom section of truck has its paper lining which is coming up or missing in some places and has stains. Paper in lid with 2 litho's is also missing some paper. Stains can be seen where paper covers original hinges on the 2 box lids. Girl on lid of larger box that lowers down and has original latch. Rider on horse is above smaller box lid. Both litho's are in outstanding condition for its age. The outside of trunk the handles are missing on the sides. It has heavy duty latches and hardware. Original Brass lock. 1921 Belber steamer wardrobe trunk from Frackville/Pottsville. Pennsylvania. Hello everyone. Up for auction is a vintage 1921 Belber steamer wardrobe trunk that is in great condition for its age; lovely worn-look It was manufactured by the Belber Trunk and Bag Company Phiadelphia. Pa. It was purchased at H.R. Knapp Leather Goods in Pottsville. Pennsylvania. It has stickers that tell that it travelled on the American Railway Express Company from Schuylkill County to Philadelphia with a young woman who attended Temple University teacher’s college. Dimensions are 41.5" x 21.5" x 21" Handle intact. All hardware is intact with all the rivets except the key is lost, 5 drawers that open and close, a separated small matching case, an ironing board; Has the Original Bar which goes thru the drawers to keep them secure during travel The ... morepatent date of April 19, 1921 is on it. Drawers still open and close. Hanger Rods still extend. But there are no hangers. Top opens so you can take the clothes out in the back without having to take the ones in front out first. It has the original material with some small snags; no holes in the interior or exterior. Isabella Irene Francks was the owner and lived in Frackville. Pa. She graduated from Temple University on June 14, 1928 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. There are several Vintage handwritten letters included from her which gives the piece alot of character. This is a great piece of local history. When I sell something on Ebay I describe it how it REALLY is. No bull here, only facts on how something is and thats the way it should be. Period. Beautiful Victorian Era Steamer Trunk. Camel or Hump Back Style. Wooden slats across the top. Sides, front and back. The lock is yale. Has the greatest little clover or club design on it. The hardware is gorgeous. Victorian style, trunk style is common or the trunks produced in the late 1800's, 1880's. Large dome. Camel back style. Not slightly domed like some. Very likely belonging to someone from an upper class, usually camel back trunks were bought by people from higher classes, they were more expensive and people bought them b/c they were more beautiful, and b/c they would be placed on the top when they traveled. If their trunk was on top, they rationalized their trunks and belongings would be safer. The trunk is in great condition for its age. The latches however dont latch well. It was established on July 1st 1823 in the city of Ithaca NY and Incorporated on March 28th 1883. Francis Edgar Foote was born in 1857 in Ithaca NY to Christopher Jansen Foote and Abigail Stout Blue. Great graphics on one card of an early horse drawn fire pumper wagon truck. The cards measure 3-1/2" x 2" Both are in good condition with some age toning and glue residue on the back of each one. These cards were carefully removed from a Victorian trade card album by soaking and then pressing dry. Great early fire fighting memorabilia from Tompkins County Ithaca NY. Extra Large Vintage Steamer Trunk 36" X 20" X 22"
Sturdy trunk could be used as a coffee table. The hinge and latches work and it will stay open be its self. The lock appears to work but I don't have a key so I can't really test it. It is a wood frame covered with a hard plastic like sheeting with metal corners and accents. Dark green. Gold and red. This trunk has a lot of history. Left over shipping tags, scratches and marks, it even looks like a double bladed rip saw tried to cut off one of the bottom corners until it hit the metal corner braces and you can see in the last photo that one blade made it all the was through, one of the thick leather handles on the side is worn almost all the way through and it wouldn't survive if the trunk had a load in it. This Hartmann trunk is approximately 40" x 27" x 24" The outside of the trunk is in decent shape. It has some wear on the leather. All of the metal and fastenings are intact. The clasps are original. Purchased from the Estate of a world traveler. Her whole life she brought things back from everywhere. This may me from the late 40's, early 50's. I do not think it has ever been used and it probably sat on a shelf in her office as long as she had it. It is solid brass, with deep etching on the top. It has a lid with two handles and on the inside there is a chimmney with holes in the base and there is an opening on the base to clean out the ash when you are done using it. From what I have found, these were hand made and used as cooking pots. For your consideration is a ca 1880 dome top steamer trunk. I t has been fully refinished. The originally outside paper covering and interior paper have been removed to show the beauty of the pine wood. The wood was sanded and refinished with stain and multiple coats of sealer. The metal covering. Top and front, were sanded, primed and painted with lime green paint and then stain applied to give it an aged look. All hardware is original and in excellent shape. The hinges and lid stay are strong and work properly. All hardware was cleaned and sealed. The working lock comes with a key. The leather side handles are new. The bottom is clean. It has a new tray. For your consideration Antique flat top trunk Ca. 1890 with original tray. Handles and canvas covering all in perfect shape. The interior has been stripped. Brushed cleaned, stained, and sealed. The original tray still has the lid to it. Can be removed easily if you don't like it. The exterior canvas is in unusually perfect shape. A copy of a period correct lithograph has been put on the inside of the lid. The handles are original and in perfect shape. Fantastic antique steamer trunk.
From my own collection a steamer trunk which we have used as a coffee table.It is good used condition but has marks and scratches commensurate with age and use.The handles are well worn and one is broken.It has been to South Africa and has various labels on it.It is on castors.There is no key and unfortunately I have locked it but I will try to find a key.Size is 20in x 18.5in x 32in. This is a very. Very nice vintage steamer trunk with a wonderful fitted interior. The outide is a little rough but not dented and no holes. Typical for the age. The interior is little better. The drawers work okay, one lid is split and the oak mirror is fine. The is a stenicl name Adele Ott and a sticker from Atlantic City New Jersey's Hotel Dennis. There are no maker names that I can find but there is a pattern that may help with Idenity. This is not Louis Vuitton I dont think but nevertheless a very nice and rare vintage steamer trunk. Nice Refinished Dome Curve Arch Top Steamer Trunk Antique Chest w/ Interior Tray
Nice Refinished Antique Curve Top Steamer Trunk With Nice Polished Metal and Interior Tray Here is a very nice clean. Refinished fancy embossed patterned metal arch top steamer trunk from the late 1800's. Here are this beautiful trunk's dimensions: from left to right across the front is 34 1/2 inches. From floor to top is 23 1/2 inches. And from front edge to back edge is 19 1/2 inches. This nice trunk is made up of original fancy square or checkered patterned metal along with oak outer slat boards. We wire wheeled the fancy metal to bring it up to a nice shine which is probably very close to what it looked like back when it was sold in the 1800's. We also refinished the outer slat boards by giving them three coats of polyurethane by Minwax. Overall, this trunk is in very nice condition. We brush painted the rest of the metal ... moreby hand in black and gold leaf. The fancy metal is polished, not painted. This one has the original lock. It is missing the key hole cover. It does work with the key we have provided. Since the key hole cover is missing, the key has less guidance into the lock. With some practice, you can engage and disengage the lock with the key. The front latches are original and do work since the springs are still intact. The side handles were missing and have been replaced with Amish made black leather stitched straps. We say Amish made because we obtain all of our leather items for these refinished trunks from an Amish man here in Pennsylvania near our home. This would be a fabulous trunk to put at the foot of the bed and store blankets and other clothing items inside, and it is sturdy enough to sit upon the top if you need to do so while changing your clothing. To tell you the truth, this trunk would look nice anywhere inside your home where storage space is needed. Going to the inside, we have made a nice tray for you that rests at the top edge where the original one once did. Nice Refinished Flat Top Steamer Trunk Antique Chest With Straps, Key, & 2 Trays
Gorgeous Refinished Antique Flat Top Steamer Trunk With Straps& Buckles. Working Lock With Key, and Two Original Interior Trays Here is an absolutely beautiful fancy refinished flat top steamer trunk from the late 1800's to around 1900 or so. If you have been waiting for the magnificent trunk with a tremendous amount of hardware. Then this one is definitely the one for you. It is hard for us to find trunks throughout the year that are really nice like this one. Here are the trunk's di mensions: from left to right across the front is 32 1/2 inches. From floor to top is 22 1/2 inches, and from front edge to back edge is 21 inches. This beauty is made up of pine base wood with oak outer slat boards. The wood has been finished with three coats of polyurethane by Minwax. The wood is in pretty good condition with some typical older ... moredistress marks which include nicks and dings in various places along with some hairline stress cracks. Just about all of the trunks that we refinish have these older character marks or distress marks, most of which have accumulated over time. The edge banding on the sides of this trunk is made up of some type of composition. It has some typical small splits or stress cracks in it, one of which we have shown in a close up picture so there won't be any surprises. The metal parts that make up this trunk are not brass, therefore we have brush painted the metal by hand in black and gold leaf. This trunk maker went all out and put lots of fancy hardware on this trunk. This beautiful trunk comes with the original signed working lock. Look at the close up picture and you will see it is signed, Eagle Lock Co Terryville Conn" We have matched up a key for you that does work properly with this lock. This trunk originally came with leather straps with buckles. They were eroded away and missing, so we have run a nice pair of Amish made leather straps with roller buckles up the front and across the top in the same location where the original ones did. Vintage Steamer Trunk with Railroad Tag From 1948 With Key
You are viewing a vintage steamer trunk. You may have viewed many trunks before but how many have US Customs and Railway Express tags dated 1948, its amazing that a paper tag can remain attached and legible for 65 years. To top that off it still has a key for the lock, its a really neat trunk. The hinges and latches are in great shape, the lock has a spring inside that is coming apart so Im nervous to try to lock it. The inside paper lining is dirty and fragile so I dont want to clean it. The handles are both there and are in good shape. If there are any questions please feel free to ask. Up for auction is an incredible Avery Bulldog cast iron piece. 9"H X 6"W, that was likely taken from the front flue access door of an Avery steam tractor. It can be fastened to a heavy duty backing, or can be set on a stand to prop it upright on your mantle or in your showcase. It has been totally cleaned and painted, but could easily be re-done if preferred in a different color arrangement. If you are a collector of all things Avery, something like this may never come along again in a long time, if ever. I have no idea of what its value is, so it is being started at $200.
