They are about 15 years old. Lightly used. This ... moreMakita line was very well respected in its generation and they still compete favorably with the better tools out there. Two upgraded NiMH battery packs are included. Both are about a year old. They are 3000 mAh rating. Which I believe is more than double the power of the original NiCd packs. I am also including one Makita charger, which is designed for the NiMH batteries. The charger provides very fast charge time- less than an hour for a full charge. The charger has intelligent circuitry to detect faulty packs and to maintain a full charge safely. The drill driver has a variable speed trigger. It is reversible. And importantly. It has a 2-speed gearbox- high speed for drilling, low speed for driving screws. Because of that gearing, this is an extremely powerful way to drive screws- much more powerful then the normal battery-powered screwdriver. And the body of the tool allows you to apply secure pressure to drive the screws with minimum fatigue. As a drill, it is just fine for light work. The tool includes a 5-level clutch adjustment to allow you to set the amount of torque you want to apply to screws. That can help avoid stripping the screws by applying too much power. I am including the plastic carrying case and arbor wrench. No drill bits or screw heads are included. With this upgraded battery, you can easily sink hundreds of deck screws, for example, on a single charge. The circular saw is a very convenient tool. It isn't nearly as powerful as a big plug-in framing saw. Bit it is very light weight and just great for small jobs, for example using 1/4 plywood, paneling, or fence pickets. Vintage Stanley H271 A circular Saw Original Metal Carry Case
This is a listing for an original carry case for a vintage Stanley H271 A electrical circular saw. Case only. No saw. It's got almost but not quite all the way through slices on the right and back rear corners where someone wasn't 100% careful in using the box to make a cut. But this could be remedied with some epoxy putty if desired. All sides are in good shape with the exception of slight surface rust on the bottom and creases in the metal around the hinge area where weight of some kind forced the lid beyond it's thresh hold but someone took the time to do a pretty good job of repairing it to where the damage has little to no bearing on the opening and closing of the lid. It has a built in swivel carry handle. A lockable latch and is a good solid case with it's original Stanley logo.
