I usually mounted the slightly higher priced casters with brakes at one end and a non-braked pair at the other end. But another effective way is to mount two casters with brakes at opposite corners. I've found that you typically don't need brakes at all four corners. Your choice entirely. This set of four industrial grade casters includes one right-side brake caster and one left side brake caster. So the foot-operated brake controls projected outward after rolling to the new position. These are US made Faultless brand industrial grade casters. If I'm reading their catalog correctly, these are from their 4700 caster series and are rated to each carry up to 300 pounds. They mount by a stout 1 inch diameter ... moresolid steel shaft which slides into your 1 inch diameter base mounting hole or 1" inside diameter pipe welded into the frame's corner. After the shaft slides in a little over 1 inch. Its spring-loaded snap ring snaps out which locks the caster into your mounting hole. Your can later remove it by compressing the snap ring. 4 Antique Matching Cast Iron Industrial Service Caster Co 1917 Cart Table Wheels
This is a nice set of 4 antique heavy duty cast iron caster wheels. They are in good condition. They swivel and roll smooth. The wheel itself is approx. 3 inches by 1 1/ 8 inches. They measure approx. 4 1/ 2 inches tall. The mounting piece measures approx. 4 7/8 inches by 3 1/ 8 inches. It is marked on mounting plate Ser v ice Caster& T. Co. Albion. Mich. Pat. 1917. Each caster wheel weighs approx. 4 pounds. The swivel part has ball bearings. The wheel has a hole in it for oiling. We have cleaned most of the grease and grime from this set. It has some rust that needs to be buffed off. This is a very rare and hard to find set of caster wheels. Guaranteed to be old and original. Satisfaction guaranteed. Shipping is $1 1.30. Wheels are in good shape but need a little cleaning. Two are a like 3rd is the same except brake then the 4th's stem(I don't know what to call it.
