ANTIQUE VINTAGE CAST IRON VERY HEAVY BASSICK SWIVEL CASTERS W/ GREASE FITINGS Hi folks. These are very heavy weighing over 30lbs for the four. To save you on the shipping I’ll ship these in a large flat rate box with a ¼” lauwn“plywood” bottom and sides for extra support. These have grease fittings on both the bases and the wheels as can be seen in the pictures, although I did not try to put any grease in them and one of the base fittings is missing. All of the wheels have some degree of rust and pitting with one wheel having a significant ... moreamount to one section and loss of metal as seen in the picture. I took extra pictures of this one so you’d have some idea of its condition. Also one other wheel has a dimple in it about the size of a dime. The wheels are easily changed out by removing one bolt and nut if you ever needed to. All 4 wheels turn freely and swivel smoothly. I bought these casters at a local farm sale and although the wheels show a little surface rust I think they are new or unused. The wheels are of spoked design with a 5 inch diameter and 2 inch width. The axle through the center of the wheel has a diameter of about 1/2 inch. The swivel mechanism has ball bearings and each wheel has 3 grease zerks for lubrication. Each caster has an overall height of about 6 1/2 inches. The rectangular mounting plate has dimensions of about 4 X 4 1/2 inches. Each caster weighs about 7 1/2 pounds. Here is a great set of industrial. Very heavy duty application, cast iron casters. The wheels themselves are cast iron, 6" in diameter, and 2" wide. They are each mounted on a swivel plate, the plate measures 5 1/2" x 5" Each caster stands about 7 1/2" in height. I can see Bassick 6 on each caster, and it also looks like the number 8261 is imprinted on the wheels. These casters are definitely for a heavy duty application. Each caster weighs 11 lbs. As can be seen in the pictures, there are scratches in the gold finish on each caster, all in the same places, but this, in no ways, impacts the function of these casters. There is also a bit of rust in some areas, but once again there is no impact on performance. All of the casters move freely on the attached swivel plates. Four cast iron industrial Bassick casters acquired at an industrial salvage auction. The Bassick Caster Company manufactured casters in Bridgeport. CT and is no longer in existence. These casters are huge and from what I have learned, I believe they probably came from an industrial factory cart. The iron wheels measure 3-1/2" in diameter and each caster weighs well over 6 pounds. They all roll and swivel as they should. Each has a grease fitting and the ball bearings can be seen under the edge of their enclosures. They are marked in more than one place with the manufacturer's name; and the part#477 is prominently stamped on one end of the bases. There are other numbers in various places which are likely part numbers for other components. There is heavy patina/rust and minor visible wear to the wheels. I did not see any cracks. Chips, or repairs when I looked these over. The three on the bottom left appear to be partially brass and weigh 1lb each. never used 9 1/2" total height with a 2"x8" cast iron/black polyurethane wheel two swivel and two stationary with grease fitting for the bearings and on the wheels the mounting plate is 4"x4 1/2" with four slotted mounting holes there 1100 lb.max weight for each one. they just have a couple small scuff marks on the chrome part from being moved around in storage.

Up for auction is Very Heavy Duty Vintage Cast Iron Swivel Caster. Wheel is Cast Iron and the rest is Heavy Thick Steel. Wheel measures approx. 6" tall and it is 3" wide and the whole assembly is approx. 7 1/2" tall and the base measures approx. 5 1/4" X 7 1/4" This wheel is a monster it weighs almost 35 lbs. by itself. The top of the Grease Zirk on the swivel has been sheared off but looks like what is left can be dug out with an easy out. See pics. The Wheel is marked Caster Concepts 06300-20-34 A129.
