It has really weird and interesting patterns. There are a couple tiny VUGS(AKA"crystal cave inclusions" one above the left eye socket. One in the underside of the head at the back. Plus an interesting little crease that may be a very shallow vug that is under the right eye socket. All three areas have been highlighted with ORANGE arrows in the photos. Arizona Rainbow Petrified Wood-Nazlini-Fascinating Patterns
This specimen is from the Chinle formation in northeastern Arizona. An area famous for its varied and brilliantly colored petrified wood. It dates back to the Triassic era and is of the extinct species of tree, araucarioxylon Arizonicum. The different colors are due to the different minerals present during the petrification process. It was photographed both wet and dry in natural light. Photos 1& 2 are a side by side comparison of the wet/dry photos. It weighs about 5 lb. 6.75 oz. and the triangular piece measures about 8 x 5.5 x 2.75" It is called Nazlini because of the location in which it is found and is distinctive for its brilliant pastels and stained-glass window appearance.
