No cracks or crazing. There is a a few tiny nicks on the edge of the plate-too small to measure- Not noticable. It is signed Vega on the back. It is just lovely. A brilliantly crafted. Geometric mosaic design runs around the lower half of the piece. I have a larger vase, in a similar pattern which is signed by the artist, Eduardo Vega. Originally from Cuenca. Ecuador, this unique hand-crafted bud vase is 5" tall, 3" in diameter at its widest point. The neck is about 2" long by 3/4" in diameter, slightly flared at the top. The artist's signature does not appear on this piece. In 1995 when I was exploring Cuenca with a friend. We didn't have time to go to the Taller E. Vega in Turi which I had heard about from friends before out trip. But we were encouraged to visit an Artesa store by a friendly ... morecafe owner who said it offered many, many magnificent Vega gems which we'd be proud to own. He was right. Although I'd"window-shopped" for days. This was the only place where I actually bought(six pieces! and wished I could buy out the store. I've never run across anything similar in all my travels(before or) since. Often called the most important ceramic artist in Ecuador. Eduardo Vega was born in Cuenca in 1938. He studied for four years at the Real Academia de San Fernando in Spain and then went and furthered his studies in London and France at the Bourges School of Fine Arts. He returned to Cuenca where he was the first Artisan who created ceramic murals. The first of these murals was at the El Dorado Hotel in 1969. His colorful terracotta and enamel murals grace walls all over Cuenca and the rest of Ecuador. Cuenca is a region with strong pottery traditions. Eduardo’s depiction of tropical abundance and his love of the historical and mythical characters combined with other local details make his work so interesting. Vintage 1920 Vega tu-ba phone Mandolin banjo
This particular Vega/A.C. Fairbanks Mandolin Banjo the mfg date is suggested to be 1920 under a 1893 patent it bares the serial number 38166. This Mandolin banjo has a 10" head/skin. Also was well used back in the day by my grandfather. its in good condition and is still in playable condition. could use new strings. The fret wires have some wear in them. I also have a case that was for a small banjo that will ship with it.

You don't need to do anything to the guitar- it doesn't need a neck reset, fretwork, bridge work, nut work, or anything else. Just pick it up and enjoy that amazing tone you can only get from wood that has been aging for almost a century. There also are three holes on the end above the strap pin where it looks like someone installed a trapeze tailpiece sometime in the past and subsequently removed it. It includes the original case. Vintage 1920's Banjolin Banjo Mandolin w/ Case. Vega? Oscar Schmidt?
Vintage 1920's or 30's Banjolin 25.5 in long with a whopping 11.5 in. head. This little fella really projects. It is top of the line with quality woods and very ornate inlay. It also has the skunk stripe neck that is also bound with off white binding. The tuners are fully functional and she is strung up and ready to play. Come with a vintage case. I was told she was either a Vega Little Wonder or an Oscar Schmidt Sovereign. There are no marking anywhere. So you make your mind up. This is a sturdy heavy little instrument and you will not be disappointed.

Vintage Cerwin Vega D3 D-3 Speakers Super Clean Near Mint Refoamed Great Bass
Up for auction is a Near Minto conditions set of Cervin Vega D-3 loudspeakers. They are in excellent condition and sound great. I bought these from the orginal owner and refoamed the woofers muyself with Genuine Cerwin Vega Foam. I originally bought these to just resell. But they sounded so good I used them in my main listening room for about 3 months. Now I have another set of speakers. So these are up for sale. The are all original. Grill cloth and name badge are perfect. They have a 10" woofer. But sound much larger, has that vintage Cervin Vega Bass sound. Corners and edges have ZERO damage. Only flaw is a scratch on the side of one of the cabinets that I have pictured. But honestly it is way more noticable in the picture than with naked eyes. I have shipped many sets of speakers. So bid with confiedence.

Here is a 1950's Vega model D-26 electric acoustic arch top guitar. Made in the Boston, Mass. USA. The serial# is 101XX. This beauty is in very good condition for it's age. It has some nicks, scratches, and weather checking. The neck is straight with good action. The frets show no real wear. The pickup sounds good and all the electronics work as they should. The tops looks like solid spruce with maple back and sides. The back has nice flame. It looks like it may have had a neck set with a strap button added to the heal. The bottom bout measures 16 1/4" top bout 11 1/2" and it is 3 1/2" thick. The scale length is 25 1/2" Included is what looks like the original brown alligator soft shell case. Vega style M Tubaphone Tenor Banjo, large pot with fingerboard extension
Up for bid is an extra clean Vega Style M Tubaphone Tenor Banjo. This was made in 1922. It has an extended fingerboard and oversize 11 1/2 inch pot. The scale is 20 5/8th inches. This banjo plays and sounds very good. It has nice flame maple construction. The neck is dead straight with original frets. The frets show no play wear. I think this has spent the last 90 or so years in its case. The banjo overall is cleaner than you are likely to find from this era. The string action is nice and low all the way up the neck with no fretting out or buzzing. The head has been changed out for a newer one and there is one hook and nut that was missing when I got this. I have replaced it with a non original newer one. Vintage Short Scale Banjo - For repair / Restoration / Parts - Vega?
Vintage Banjo for Repair/ Restoration. I'm not sure about the make. It does have the star on the headstock like some older Vega's I have had in the past. It is small. Perhaps a Little Wonder model. It was well made with very good quality materials. The body is birds eye maple and has better quality J-Hooks and hook anchors. The neck is 2 piece maple with a strip of walnut down the center. It looks like a walnut top cap on the neck heel and on the face of the head stock as well. It is missing 5 J-hooks, the bridge, the tone bar clamp support and the top is torn. The tone bar is stamped 310 1/2 and the body is stamped 21.but no other markings I can see. The string tail piece is marked Elite and dated May 2 1899. Vega Pete Seeger Long Neck Banjo, Dowel Stick Model, rare
Up for bid is a 1960 Vega PS 5 Long Neck Banjo. The Vega Long Neck Pete Seeger is the most recognized banjo from the Folk Music Era. You have to look real hard to find a Dowel Stick model any more. This one is well played but sound condition. The neck is dead straight with no bows or twists. No cracks or repairs anywhere. The frets are in great shape. This banjo is the last version of the dowel stick before Vega vent to the duel rods. This one has 24 brackets. Earlier Dowel stick models had 28 brackets. This one still has a calf skin head. As you can see in the pictures there have been a few sets of tuners installed over the years leaving some extra holes in the back of the headstock. There is also finish wear on the back of neck from Capo Use. The original case shows much wear but is still sound and protects the banjo well. Vintage Banjo Part.. Grover Pat Pending Multi-Tone Mute..Vega Fairbanks + Others
This is an unique style of banjo mute. It was made by Grover. Likely in the very early 1900's.It mounts inside the banjo between the dowel stick and the head.It is spring loaded and you can move it along the dowel stick to the position that gives you the desired sound.There is also an adjustable thumb screw to add pressure.Although I haven't seen many of these, the most common banjos that I have seen them on were early Vega banjos.I do not know if it was an optional piece of hardware when purchasing a Vega Fairbanks banjo or if it was an aftermarket part back then.Some people shove socks or underwear inside to mute a banjo. THE IVEROID BINDING ON THE FINGERBOARD WAS REPLACED WITH PERIOD CORRECT BINDING.IT HAS NEW FRETS INSTALLED(I used circa 1930-40's fretwire that came right out of the Vega factory. I bought it along with many other Vega items. From the estate of a former Vega employee that had been storing parts etc. for Vega at his home. Wink, wink!THE FINGERBOARD WAS CLEANED, ANY LOOSE INLAYS TAKEN CARE OF, AND THEN LEMON OILED.THE NECK IS PERFECT, STRAIGHT, AND VERY EASY TO PLAY ALL THE WAY UP THE NECK, NO BUZZING ETC. PLAYS PERFECT. WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE NECK BINDING. FRETS, REMO HEAD, AND BRIDGE, IT'S ALL ORIGINAL.IT HAS THE BETTER THAN USUAL PLANET TUNERS.IT HAS THE TUBAPHONE TONE RING. Up for auction is a fantastic example of a Vega style R“Whyte Laydie" Short scale tenor banjo with 13" Resonator- Grover tuners and bridge- in excellent condition with original hard shell case. A short scale tenor banjo has 17 frets; it was made for professional musicians with small hands. Nowadays the players of Scots and Irish music prefer this type of banjo. Obviously there are a few things that are not perfect about this banjo(all pictured) However this is a very playable instrument in great condition to be pushing 90 years old The case is in pretty decent shape but has no handle and one hinge looks a little unstable so if you are going to gig with this banjo I would suggest investing in another case. 1920's Fairbanks Vega Whyte Laydie Banjo Mandolin
This Is a Fairbanks Vega Open back 8 string Banjo Mandolin. Its an L style. I don't know much about it other than what I can find on the internet. I had an expert from emerald city guitar in Seattle look at it and said it was in good working condition. Just missing one string but all parts are working and functioning. The Head is 10in. Rim to rim 10 and 3/4 in. It's 23 and 5/8 inches long. From the serial number I believe it's 1922 or so. The expert also placed a value of about $1200-$1500. Comes with case and a picture of the original owner I believe. There is also a strap in the case and some small pieces that I don't know what they are.
