Stable, consistent and cannot be metallized, and since that method makes up 99% of present capacitor manufacturing these are getting more and more rare. Most people believe polystyrene sounds better than polyester or polycarbonate or even polypropylene. I believe these were made by Siemens for another manufacturer in Europe probably in the 1980's.
