From the estate of an electrical engineer who did microwave/ radar research for the government, this window is a 4-3/4” dia. brass plate with a sheet of pure silver metal bonded to it, with the brass machined away to leave 2 rectangular windows of the silver(which I was told is transparent to microwaves) Weighs just over 15 oz. I estimate there is 1.5 oz of pure silver here, but will cost more to machine off the silver than the silver is worth.
