SquareTrade © AP6.0 This is a very nice Heathkit Model IT-12 Visual-Aural Signal Tracer. The unit comes with a copy of the assembly and operation manual. Heathkit had permanently attach the probe to this model Signal Tracer.no hunting for probes! A slide switch switches the probe from checking the audio circuits to rf signals. The unit uses both the sound from the speaker and also a"magic eye" tube for visual indication. The eye tube is strong. See photo#8. All the electrolytics were replaced with new units and any resistors out of tolerance were also changed. Both tubes test"good" You'll notice when turning the unit"on" some hum. This is due to the high sensitivity of the tester and the fact that the input grid is at the probe tip permitting it to pick up spurious ac fields. Once you start exploring ... morea chassis and place the probe on a audio or rf point the hum disappears. This unit works fine and is an great aid in troubleshooting problems in vintage radios. Amplifiers and TVs. It's a must on the service bench. The concept and practice of signal tracing is simple and explained in a few pages in the manual. All the knobs are original and all function properly. The Model IT-12 is the successor of Heathkit's Model T-4. The only difference is that the IT-12 has fancier knobs. Circuit is exactly the same. I also have a nice Model T-4 up for auction ending Sunday 6/2/13. If you repair vintage equipment of collect vintage test equipment you should consider this Signal Tracer. You won't find one as clean and as nice as this one. Disconnecting the probe line and adding a phono jack w/ matching impedance resistor will turn this into a great little amplifier for the guitar enthusiasts. SquareTrade © AP6.0 This is a nice EICO Model 324 Signal Generator with a copy of the manual. Schematics and probe. It has a copper chassis. There have been no modifications made externally to the original kit. The signal generator puts out a modulated or unmodulated rf signal from 150 KHz to 435 MHz. and is accurate and stable for normal radio repair work. I've checked frequencies up to 30MHz with my digital receiver and they were all fairly close reading off the dial. Should you need accuracy, then couple in a frequency meter or zero beat using a digital receiver. The signal generator provides an approx. 400 cps audio tone that can be selected or an external audio signal can be used instead. All the filter electrolytics. Coupling and by-pass capacitors were replaced and any resistors out of tolerance were also replaced. The tubes ... morewere checked and both test good. The line cord is the original and is in good condition so it remains. All the knobs are original and all function properly. There is one dial lamp and that turns on. There are some scratches on the aluminum frontpiece and a little rust on the metal cabinet, following the cabinet edges. These could be corrected if you intend to use this unit as a collectable. This signal gererator can also function as a low power transmitter. Inputting an audio signal from a source. Digital recorder, tape recorder, etc would allow you to pick up those sounds on an antique radio, perhaps in another room.just as an idea. If you collect vintage test equipment or just want a good signal generator to align your antique receiver. Then don't pass this by. The dimensions are approx: 10" wide. 8 1/2" tall and 5" deep. This is a nice clean HP Model 618C SHF Signal Generator. I did power up this piece of testing equipment and found it to be working as far as I could test it. I really don't have all the correct equipment to properly test every function but it did power up and I did get it to read on my frequency counter. Cosmetically it is pretty nice with only some scratches to the cabinet paint. The faceplate is in very nice condition as the pictures should show.
