It is stainless steel but did have a light coating of rust that I buffed out for the most part. It does have superficial rust spotting but still looks decent. It works great and comes with 2 pelican heads 4 different grinding blades. And a slicing blade. The second pelican head with the slicing blade is MISSING the FRONT COVER but the other pelican head cover MAY work. The fine blade is bent but you get 2 of them. I have not used this machine myself but the pieces all seem to go with it. It was very dirty. I have run the motor for a length period of time and it sounds fantastic, quiet, and smooth. I gave it the once over but it needs a good thorough cleaning. I've never used it other than plugging it in and turning it on to confirm it works. As far as I can tell it's in good working order other than needing a little cleaning inside. This machine was given to me by a customer who couldn't pay their bill. Which is why I've never used it myself since I'm in the dry product(seasonings, breadings, etc) blending& packaging business.
