Vintage Industrial Factory Cast Iron Swivel Casters Bassick #477 Huge 3-1/2"
Four cast iron industrial Bassick casters acquired at an industrial salvage auction. The Bassick Caster Company manufactured casters in Bridgeport. CT and is no longer in existence. These casters are huge and from what I have learned, I believe they probably came from an industrial factory cart. The iron wheels measure 3-1/2" in diameter and each caster weighs well over 6 pounds. They all roll and swivel as they should. Each has a grease fitting and the ball bearings can be seen under the edge of their enclosures. They are marked in more than one place with the manufacturer's name; and the part#477 is prominently stamped on one end of the bases. There are other numbers in various places which are likely part numbers for other components. There is heavy patina/rust and minor visible wear to the wheels. They are also extremely dirty. ... moreI haven't done anything to them as I didn't know where to begin and didn't want to disturb the patina if that was going to be the desired finished product. Up for your consideration here we have a Used Set of 4 Bassick Model 499 Swivel Casters with grease points for the wheels and the swivel action that were removed from a large heavy Medical Yag Laser from the 1980s. The machine weighed 600+ pounds. The wheels are marked Bassick and T-4. We believe they are made from a very dense rubber from feel and all of these spin as they should. The swivel action moves smooth as well. With the hex bolts each of these caster's weight over 4 lbs each. So the set of 4 weights just under 17 lbs with the bolts. The wheels measure 4" in diameter and are 1.5" thick. The swivel frame of each caster has a zinc gold and are marked"Bassick 499" and#12481 on each. Heavy Duty- Faultless Brand- 5" Industrial Casters- 2 swivel. 2 stationary. These are a set of 4 used but absolutely not abused Industrial type casters. The wheels are 5" in diameter and 1" wide. The mounting plate measures 3 5/8" X 2 9/16 X 3/32" thick. The wheels appear to have been used on a smooth concrete or tile surface as there is no holes or chunks missing from the wheels. The two wheels swivel with ball bearings and the other two are stationary. I tried to show any defects with the pictures and I have to comment on one of the bases are discolored but it no way affects the performance of the caster. They are actually pretty bright and shiney. Nice set of 4 casters that measure 10" in diameter with an 11" mounting height. The mounting plate itself is 4.5x3.75" in measurement. Hard rubber tires and hard plastic wheels for ultra quiet operation. I am unsure as to capacity. There is nothing stamped on base or the wheels themselves. I would imagine these can hold several hundred pounds and are the best you can get before going to metal rims. We have hauled as much as 500 lbs with no issues. Bid accordingly. Aerol Seal Large USED 12" High 8" Wheel Industrial Swiveling Casters_Heavy Duty
Here is a pair of Aerol Seal Giant Industrial Casters. They are used. Stamped AS R8 on wheel. Mounting plate holes are 5"x5.5" apart. Wheel measures 8" Caster stands about 11" from bottom of wheel to mounting plate. Wheels turn and swivel freely but could use some more grease. Biggest issue is a bolt that broke off in one of the holes. I got the nut off but did not attempt on getting the bolt out. Aesthetically. These are used casters. Paint is barely there, and rubber shows wear. There is about 3/4" of solid rubber on wheel. That being said, there is a lot life left in these! Great price on these otherwise very expensive pieces. Trio of used rubber wheel industrial swivel casters
This trio of used rubber wheel swivel casters have the same 5 by 4 inch slotted face plate. The trio have 6 inch hard rubber wheels. Have the same grease fitting on the swivel and have axle grease fittings. However, the center wheel has an axle grease fitting in the axle end while the other two have fittings on the wheel. The center wheel sits a half inch greater off the floor than the other two at 8 inches. The center wheel is 1-7/8 inches wide while the other two are two inches wide. The slotted face plate has oblong holes that are 3 and 4 inches in all wheels. This package of swivel wheels will be shipped USPS priority mail and the 24 pound package postage will be determined by Ebay calculator.

These casters came off of large steel grocery store produce racks/carts. I have rolled each of them around by hand. And they all roll smooth and swivel great. But one is missing the actual fitting.
