Up for bid is a vintage set of four industrial cast iron. Triangular base, dolly wheels or castors. Usually seen as a set of 3 this auction listing includes a fourth unit. Each triangular cast iron unit appears to be in perfect condition without any chips, cracks, or missing parts to the metal. Each unit stands approximately 2 to 2-1/2" high x about 6-7" across. These types of wheels or castors have notably been used to move very heavy objects, like, but not limited to refrigerators, other heavy appliances, machinery, furnaces, air conditioners and large items too awkward to handle to move otherwise. One type has a wheel that is about 1.75" W and 2.75" in diameter with no groove. The other type has a wheel that is 1.75" W x 3 1/8" in diameter with a 5/16" wide groove that is 1/4" deep. Both types are attached to a base that measures 3" W x 3.5" L x 2.75" T. There are three countersunk 1/4" wide holes. These wheels could be used for vaults. Safes, or other industrial types of carts. The treads are hard white plastic. Scuff free and designed for a smooth ride. The wheel mounting holes are approx. to the 1/16" 3/8" round and 3 3/4" on center on one side, and 2 1/4" on center on the other side. They were made by The G.P. Clark Co. Windsor Locks, Conn. U.S.A. and appear to be unused. They weigh 3 pounds each and have 3 separate markings on them. The first marking is stamped on the wheel wall along with G.P. Clark Co. It is the number 3-12. The second marking is stamped at the base of the wheel caster, it is the number 0212. The final marking ... morein stamped underneath the 4 hole brace which attaches the wheel to it's supporting item, it is the number C300. These wheels showcase excellent craftsmanship and quality. Vintage Set 4 Heavy Duty Industrial Bassick 6" Cast Iron Casters Swivel Plate
Here is a great set of industrial. Very heavy duty application, cast iron casters. The wheels themselves are cast iron, 6" in diameter, and 2" wide. They are each mounted on a swivel plate, the plate measures 5 1/2" x 5" Each caster stands about 7 1/2" in height. I can see Bassick 6 on each caster, and it also looks like the number 8261 is imprinted on the wheels. These casters are definitely for a heavy duty application. Each caster weighs 11 lbs. As can be seen in the pictures, there are scratches in the gold finish on each caster, all in the same places, but this, in no ways, impacts the function of these casters. There is also a bit of rust in some areas, but once again there is no impact on performance. All of the casters move freely on the attached swivel plates. Industrial Vintage Cast Iron 4" Wheels Set of 4 Red Steampunk Furniture Art Part
A set of 4 iron wheels. Heavy duty! These industrial size wheels are about 4" in diameter. The wheels with mounting piece are each about 5.25" tall. The mounting piece is about 7.5" on the long side and 6" on the other. The holes are about 5/8" in diameter and the rectangular cutout is about 1.25" by 5/8" Each has a great red color to the piece. This is a nice old set of caster wheels. They are made of cast iron. They all match. They are marked with numbers. But will need to be cleaned with degreaser before you can read the numbers. They have grease and grime, but will clean ok. There are no cracks. Each caster weighs approx. 4 pounds. They all swivel and roll smooth. The base has ball bearings and the wheel has a hole made for oiling. They measure approx. 4 1/4 inches tall. The wheel measures approx. 1 1/4 inch wide and approx. 3 inches across. The mounting plate measures approx. 4 1/4 inches by 3 1/4 inches. This is a very nice heavy duty set. Guaranteed to be old and original. Satisfaction guaranteed.
