Vintage Shepherd Lot 4 Used Metal Copper? Ball Casters Wheel
These coasters look like they are made of copper because of the oxidation and a magnet will not stick but I'm not sure. They are 2 inches in diameter and are marked Satellite by Shepherd. They have four(4) hold down screws. These coaster are heavy at over 1 pound. This the way I got them at a estate sale. What you see is what you get. Here's some great vintage Shepherd casters for furniture.heavy duty and in pretty good condition for the age. I have 8 pieces and 7 of them are the bright brass color in varying degrees of gold- the 8th one is a different color. Most of them say"patented" or"pat" Most say"Shepherd" but at least one doesn't say anything but looks just like the others. They measure 4 1/4" long and the round part is about 2 1/4" across. The're heavy. Condition is fair to good(judging on a scale of poor. Fair, good, very good, and excellent) Some tarnish and dirt. Vintage Shepherd Brass BALL CASTERS Pair of Round Furniture Wheels
Up for auction is a"pair" of vintage 2" Brass Shepherd Furniture Ball Casters. They came off a 1960's piece of bedroom furniture. These casters have a 1-5/8" straight shaft with a spiked end piece(that goes into the piece of furniture for stabilization. They roll very smoothly and have minimal wear- some scratches and marks you'd expect on a 50+ year old caster. Because I'm shipping this item in a small flat rate box. I will include 2 other casters free- one does not roll as smoothly as it should(oil might help) and one has a 3/4" crack in it and still rolls.
