Each triangular cast iron unit appears to be in perfect condition without any chips, cracks, or missing parts to the metal. Each unit stands approximately 2 to 2-1/2" high x about 6-7" across. This is a nice set of 4 antique heavy duty cast iron caster wheels. They are in good condition. They swivel and roll smooth. The wheel itself is approx. 3 inches by 1 1/4 inches. They measure approx. 4 1/4 inches tall. The mounting piece measures approx. 4 1/4 inches by 3 1/4 inches. It is marked on mounting plate 1050 3 A 3. Each caster wheel weighs approx. 3 3/4 pounds. They are marked Bond 1018 on the wheel. The swivel part has ball bearings. The wheel has a hole in it for oiling. We have cleaned most of the grease and grime from these. Here is a great set of industrial. Very heavy duty application, cast iron casters. The wheels themselves are cast iron, 6" in diameter, and 2" wide. They are each mounted on a swivel plate, the plate measures 5 1/2" x 5" Each caster stands about 7 1/2" in height. I can see Bassick 6 on each caster, and it also looks like the number 8261 is imprinted on the wheels. These casters are definitely for a heavy duty application. Each caster weighs 11 lbs. As can be seen in the pictures, there are scratches in the gold finish on each caster, all in the same places, but this, in no ways, impacts the function of these casters. There is also a bit of rust in some areas, but once again there is no impact on performance. All of the casters move freely on the attached swivel plates. Vintage Industrial Factory Cast Iron Swivel Casters Bassick #477 Huge 3-1/2"
Four cast iron industrial Bassick casters acquired at an industrial salvage auction. The Bassick Caster Company manufactured casters in Bridgeport. CT and is no longer in existence. These casters are huge and from what I have learned, I believe they probably came from an industrial factory cart. The iron wheels measure 3-1/2" in diameter and each caster weighs well over 6 pounds. They all roll and swivel as they should. Each has a grease fitting and the ball bearings can be seen under the edge of their enclosures. They are marked in more than one place with the manufacturer's name; and the part#477 is prominently stamped on one end of the bases. There are other numbers in various places which are likely part numbers for other components. There is heavy patina/rust and minor visible wear to the wheels. A set of 4 iron wheels. Heavy duty! These industrial size wheels are about 4" in diameter. The wheels with mounting piece are each about 5.25" tall. The mounting piece is about 7.5" on the long side and 6" on the other. The holes are about 5/8" in diameter and the rectangular cutout is about 1.25" by 5/8" Each has a great red color to the piece. This is a nice old set of caster wheels. They are made of cast iron. They all match. They are marked with numbers. But will need to be cleaned with degreaser before you can read the numbers. They have grease and grime, but will clean ok. There are no cracks. Each caster weighs approx. 4 pounds. They all swivel and roll smooth. The base has ball bearings and the wheel has a hole made for oiling. They measure approx. 4 1/4 inches tall. The wheel measures approx. 1 1/4 inch wide and approx. 3 inches across. But one is missing the actual fitting. This is a nice old set of cast iron caster wheels. They all match. The mounting plate is made of heavy metal and the wheel is cast iron. They are not marked that I can see. I have sold several sets like these in the past and they were marked Noelting Faultless. There are no cracks or chips. These have not been cleaned. But can be easily cleaned by soaking them in paint remover for a couple of days, but will leave that to the collector's discretion. Each caster weighs 1 1/2 pounds. They all swivel and roll smooth.
