Measurements are: Mounting plates are 4- inches by 3-1/4 inches wide and heavy in weight. Wheels are 3 inches in diameter and i believe to be heavy duty polyurethane or hard rubber wheels. Overall height is 4- 1/4 inches on 3 of the casters and 5-1/4 inches on the taller caster. The taller caster was mounted deeper in the unit they came off of but all 4 casters roll evenly. Vintage Set 4 Heavy Duty Industrial Bassick 6" Cast Iron Casters Swivel Plate
Here is a great set of industrial. Very heavy duty application, cast iron casters. The wheels themselves are cast iron, 6" in diameter, and 2" wide. They are each mounted on a swivel plate, the plate measures 5 1/2" x 5" Each caster stands about 7 1/2" in height. I can see Bassick 6 on each caster, and it also looks like the number 8261 is imprinted on the wheels. These casters are definitely for a heavy duty application. Each caster weighs 11 lbs. As can be seen in the pictures, there are scratches in the gold finish on each caster, all in the same places, but this, in no ways, impacts the function of these casters. There is also a bit of rust in some areas, but once again there is no impact on performance. All of the casters move freely on the attached swivel plates. These casters are in great condition but have a little bit of surface rust on the rims which you can see in the pictures. They were used on a cart in my woodworking shop to move around a heavy router table. The wheels should be able to hold at least 1500 lbs as a set of four. Heavy Duty 5" Industrial Casters- Bassick and JJ Markings- 2 of Each These casters are used but absolutely not abused. The wheels spin freely. The brakes lock, the swivels turn great. They do have grease fittings and it does not look like they were ever greased. There is not oozing grease anywhere. The diameters are 5" and the thickness are 2" on all four casters. The wheels do show some wear but no holes or gouges. They look like they had rolled on smooth concrete, not like asphalt or rocky surfaces. The mounting plates measure 4 1/2" X 4" X 3/16" thick. They weigh in at 5 1/2 pounds each. This is a 22 pound shipment. Now. There is one caster that says"Bassick Kaspar, one caster says, Bassick SW" and two casters that have a"JJ" stamped on them. Here is a three piece set of heavy duty casters. The tread is aproximately 2" wide. And the wheel diameter is 8" The total height from floor to the top of the mounting plate is 9 1/4" The"tire" part of the caster is red plastic. Believed to be polyurethane, and the grey hub is a non-magnetic material of some kind. Each caster hub has grease fittings for lubrication. And the swivel style caster also has a grease fitting for the swivel ball bearing. The locking lever appears to be frozen or else too tight in adjustment on the swivel-style caster. Please check the images for greater detail. All three casters used together might make a nice"tricyle" type of cart that is easily steerable with the appropriate kind of balanced load.or just use the casters individually in your application.
