They even built their own electronics and machinery and other things from kits because they could use their ingenuity to save money, which was something people did not have to waste. Anyway. Now all that is gone. There are no longer kits to repair the starter on your car, or to fix a broken motor in your refrigerator. Nobody fixes anything anymore. They just have it replaced and they even pay someone else to do it. Why? The"why" is that ... moremen no longer remember how to figure things out for themselves. They do not have the pride men used to have when they figured out on their own how to do something they had never done before. a thing they did it almost every day! I always admired that about men when I was a boy, and so did every other boy. I guess that is why, my whole life I wanted to learn how to do all those things. I am now in my fifties and I would bet that between myself and my brothers, we could fix, build or fabricate most things that we could ever need, but even still.when I get to talking to guys who are in their eighties, I am astounded at how much more stuff they know how to do than I have done.as yet. You are bidding on 6 very nice(cosmetically) Orion G and Orion Multi Gas Detector Also included with the Orion G are the pumps with adjustable metal. Also included are 3 AA battery packs(batteries not included) Each detecor boots up except for one of the Orion G detectors that just shows 1 red light. These were owned by a Fire Supply company and it appears they used these to take out sensors for other detectors. The one Orion G that only shows a red light does not have any sensors. The rest have at least 2 sensors. I do not have the time or knowledge to flip the sensors back and forth to see if one is completely working. One of the units was calibrated in 2012. Most will work for a small time before the red lights blink and they error out with flashing E10's. E4, blinking O2 line on LCD screen and other stop pumping. Figaro B3-RS15 Combustible Gas Carbon Monoxide LEL Sniffer Detector Sensor Head
This is a sensor for some sort of combustible gas sniffer. It is sensitive to propane, butane, gasoline vapor, alcohol vapor, acetone vapor, hydrogen, and carbon monoxide. Internally it is a heater and a resistor that is sensitive to reducing gases or vapors. The sensor takes 5V on the heater for 14 milliseconds followed by a 236 millisecond off time. It is read out once every second or so by a 5v signal applied across the senor element. It would be ok to change the power On time within 10% provided you correct and balance the power dissipation. It is most sensitive to hydrogen and least sensitive to gasoline vapor. This sensor is new old stock. My best guess it it probably was intended to be used in a safety warning meter of some kind. I have lots of lasers and other unique stuff for sale this week.

This is an interesting and rare antique. Seraphin Test Measure company. Philadelphia, PA is still one of the leading providers of calibrated measures for the petroleum industry and currently operates in New Jersey. During the first half of the 1900s, this gasoline can with gauge calibrated the amount gasoline pumped for accuracy at service stations. The gauge is in excellent condition. The green can is in original condition and ready for restoration. Please refer to the numerous photos I took. You will note that there are two spots where the rust holes went through the bottom of the metal can.
