This is a sensor for some sort of combustible gas sniffer. It is sensitive to propane, butane, gasoline vapor, alcohol vapor, acetone vapor, hydrogen, and carbon monoxide. Internally it is a heater and a resistor that is sensitive to reducing gases or vapors. The sensor takes 5V on the heater for 14 milliseconds followed by a 236 millisecond off time. It is read out once every second or so by a 5v signal applied across the senor element. It would be ok to change the power On time within 10% provided you correct and balance the power dissipation. It is most sensitive to hydrogen and least sensitive to gasoline vapor. This sensor is new old stock. My best guess it it probably was intended to be used in a safety warning meter of some kind. I have lots of lasers and other unique stuff for sale this week.
