Measured it and found it tuned to 2.95-3.00 GHz, 50 MHz wide, very nice shape, uses SMA(f) connectors, nicely made. I figured, what the hell, maybe it will retune to 3456 MHz for the ham band, and it does, still about 50 MHz wide. That is the second plot. The plot is marked with the screw lengths that protrude once you retune it, to speed up the process! Mystery WR90 Attenuator / Filter / Coax to Waveguide Adapter / Detector WR-90
Here is a mystery microwave waveguide assembly that contains some useful WR-90 bits. Included is an SMA coax to waveguide adapter. Waveguide filter of which I believe is a 9.3- 9.5Ghz bandpass filter based on some testing, and a short.3" waveguide section. Following that is a precision assembly of unknown function, possibly a precision filter or attenuator. The dial on it is a precision vernier dial made by Brown and Sharpe, the same type you find on a caliper. At the far end is a WR-90 waveguide detector. This is terminated to a BNC connector. Overall the assembly is in good shape. The SMA connector on the waveguide transition has a small scrape on it. But it does not affect the mating of a connector or performance from what I have tested. WR-112 waveguide bandpass filter, 7.4 GHz
Here is a 7.4 GHz eight pole(iris defined cavities) WR-112 waveguide bandpass filter. The 3 dB down bandwidth is 25 MHz. And the center frequency is 7.4 GHz. Nice construction: The tuning screws and interior of the waveguide/iris plates are silver plated, and the waveguide is brass or copper. Filter is about 9 inches long. Issue: One end of the filter is coupled(at a right angle) to another WR-112 waveguide, which contains a vane attenuator. The two flanges on that WR-112 waveguide are broken/bent. The microwave experimenter will saw off the the attenuator-containing WR-112 and solder a WR-112 flange to that end of the filter. Ships to USA for $9.00 via USPS Priority Mail.
