See a lot of great positive feedbacks we have gotten from these. And haven't been tested and sold as parts/repair, so must have been pretty good! I am not a technician, but I did plug it in and it fired up okay. F irst powered up and showed a trace pretty much centered in the lower part of the grid. I moved the trace left/right. Up/down. Increased/decreased intensity. Adjusted the focus, etc. I decided to punch a bunch of buttons to get the panel to light up and show that it does seem to work somewhat. Came up with two different traces, with two lines in each trace. Picture three has a dual trace in the center(center two lines) with a bigger dual trace(upper and lower lines) enclosing the inner dual trace.There is not much else I can do to test this since I have no probes. The Tektronix 453 is a portable 50MHz dual-trace oscilloscope and produced until the mid-1970's. Initial versions had Nuvistor tubes in the front end as cathode-follower voltage buffers. Later versions used FETs for the same purpose. The vertical amplifier that drives the CRT deflection plates is a cascoded differential amplifier made of NPN transistors. Triggering uses. I charged them by connecting it to the power outlet and the 2 channel were working just fine. But by disconnecting the power the unit switched off due to the weak Battery units. I have not used this unit much or tested it. I have a newer scope and don't need it. It powers up and will show the right voltage and amplitude. But I am not sure if the trace is working incorrectly or I'm not doing something right(very possible, I am new to this) because I can't keep the waveform from running off to the left or right for very long. A used TAS 465 100 MHz scope in very good operational and tested condition. This is a one owner unit. Heavy duty fan cooled top of the line quality Tektronix workhorse of a scope. Analog scope with digital features. Autoset function and cursor measurement of timing. Frequency, and Voltages. Complete with Instruction manual and quick reference guide. Includes probes complete with"witches hats" hook on probe adapters. Unit has normal wear and tear including some scuffs/ light scratches on the graticule. Right hand side of graticule is slightly darkened. May be some dust inside perhaps on the CRT but does not look like burn in. Small dent on top cover about 1/2" in length. Shown in the photos is the unit with a 110 MHz sine wave input to demonstrate it is operational to the limits of it's specified bandwidth and beyond.
