Antique optometrist's trial lens frame. Steampunk eyeglasses. Sunglass lenses.
Up for bid is an antique trial lens frame from the early 1900's. It was used by an optometrist to examine eyes. The trial frame is in excellent condition. There are a lot of moving parts and all are working. There is mild tarnishing of the frame but is mostly limited to the back side of the frame. There are two clips on the front of each eye piece and one clip in the back. So the trial frame holds up to three trial lenses per eye. Included are two non-prescription trial lenses, one dark blue and one dark red. The blue lens has some dings in the lens which do not distract from vision. The red lens is in excellent condition. Up for auction is a pair of antique bifocal eye glasses. They have the round windsor style lenses and they are in good condition. I can't see any scratches on the lenses and there are no chips or cracks. The little cream colored nose pieces are loose but are not in danger of coming off. The metal bridge piece is marked"Cortland" See picture#3. From outside edge of the lens to outside edge of the lens they measure 4" The hinges are tight. The temple arms swing out a little past 90 degrees. Ther frames have a nice delicate design. I tried to get a good picture but it was hard. 1950's MOBIL Gas Pump Globe With Two Orig Glass Lenses & Orig Capco Base
Here is a hard to find original 1950's vintage MOBIL REGULAR gas pump globe with two original and uncracked glass lenses and an original Capco base. This was one of the globes my Grandfather had on one of his gas pumps back in the 1950's and put away years ago until I just took it out to take these pictures. The base has CAPCOLITE NO. 216 REG. U.S. PAT. NO. 1.933,866 THE CINN. ADV. PRODUCTS CO. The Capco base is really dirty and has fine lines like fine cracks around the top of it and some stains but when you look inside the globe they are not there. The glass lenses are original also and one has a little white paint loss around the bottom and they look like they both have lite staining. I am not going to even attempt to clean this item I will leave it up to you experts to do that as you might be able to clean everything off it. The lenses measure 1 inch high. 1-3/8 inches wide and hinge to hinge they measure 4-1/2 inches wide. They are not marked so I don't know if they are gold, gold filled or plate. The other pair look like nickel silver this pair has one broken bow. The lenses measure 1 inch high, 1-3/8 inches wide and hinge to hinge they measure 4-3/8 inches wide. Body: Nikkormat Nikon FT 4723234 Body In good used vintage condition with expected cosmetic wear. Film advance moves smoothly and mirror moves freely. Nice and snappy. Curtain looks good. There is some white stuff(doesn't smell like mold) on the inside. Possibly residue from cleaning in the past. Viewfinder is a little dusty but not bad. Will definitely need a good cleaning. Lens: Nikon Nikkor-S Auto 55mm F1.2 Serial 232154 Lens– Quite a bit of dust behind the glass. No fungus/mold. Aperture ring moves nicely. Stored with a haze filter in place which is a little beat ... moreup. Barrel has expected cosmetic wear. Non AI- F Mount Lens. Body: Nikkormat Nikon FT 363559 Body– mirror is stuck– film advance is also stuck. Overall cosmetically in good condition. Also unable to get the back of this camera open. So this body is being sold for parts& repair only. Lens: Nikon Nikkor-N Auto 28mm F2 Serial#281923 Lens– in good used condition. Cosmetic wear to the barrel. Lens is in great shape with no fungus/damage. I'm unable to remove the filter but it appears all dust i'm seeing is on the filter not inside the lens itself.
