Found with many bottle from the 1800's so I assume it is from that era It can't stand on it's own so I used some furniture pads to keep it upright. The T.C. Wheaton Company was started in 1888 by Dr. Theodore C. Wheaton. They started by making ampoules. Viles, and chemical bottles. In 1892 they expanded and started to produce perfume bottles, and in 1937 expanded again to accommodate the growing consumer demand. 1946 the Wheaton Glass Company started to delineate the different product lines. The company was sold to Algroup in 1996. The four heavy glass chemical bottles are: Acid Acetic, Ammonium Hydroxide, Barium Chloride, and Alcohol. The bottles have all been cleaned and there is no smell to the inside of the bottle. They are 8 inches tall ... morewith stopper, about 7 inches at the top of the neck and are 3 inches in diameter. The glass stopper is 2 ¼ inches long. The bottles have raised lettering of the Chemical name and compounds on the front. The Alcohol and Barium bottles are stamped with the number 5, the Acid is stamped with the number 4, and the Ammonium is stamped with the number 3. Rare Antique Laboratory Apparatus Galvanometer Wood Brass Early
This is a very nice and hard to find 1900s galvanometer made by the University Apparatus Company of Berkeley. California. It is in very good condition for its age. It features a brass indicator with glass 5.0 inches in diameter, surrounded by an 8.0 inch brass ring wound with fine green wire. The wooden base is also 8.0 inches in diameter. The needle is two-tone silver and blue, and rotates freely. It rests on a pin. There are three black leveling posts around the outside. There are a number of screw posts on the unit, three on the back marked 5, 10 and 15, and a pair on the front marked 500.

Circa 1900-1910. But please make up your own mind about this. I presume it is for laboratory use. And it has a real"Frankenstiens lab" look about it! The unit measures approx 8 inches(200mm) long by 4 inches(100mm) wide by 4 1/2 inches tall. And is made from brown bakelite, with lacquered brass fittings. The two switch arms can be positioned in various ways. And move freely. It is in good original condition with very light wear consitent with its great age. But no damage or repairs. Description: This auction is for the Double Glass Ball Geissler or Crookes Tube pictured above. Geissler and Crookes are the two names most often associated with discharge tubes like this. Geissler tubes were first invented by the German glassblower Heinrich Geissler in 1857 and he was producing them for scientific researches by the 1880's. He died in 1897. William Crookes was also English and somewhat younger than Geissler. He furthered the development of these unusual devices. As is typical this example is unmarked as to maker. It came from ... morethe physics labs of Case Western Reserve University where it was used back near the turn of the century. The Geissler tube is an evacuated glass tube with an electrode at each end. Geissler tubes contain a combination of rarefied(thinned) gasses such as neon. Argon, or air, with conductive liquids or minerals. When a high voltage is applied to the terminals an electrical current flows through the tube. The current will disassociate electrons from the gas molecules, creating ions and when electrons recombine with the ions different lighting effects are created. The light will be characteristic of the material contained within the tube and will be composed of one or more narrow spectral lines. I see no problems with this. But it has not been tested and is being sold as is. It is out of the laboratory of Case Western University, and is from the stock of equipment used by such famous researchers as Dayton Miller who worked there. Antique / vintage alcohol / spirit burner glass lamps laboratory watch jeweler
Here are three vintage or antique alcohol/ spirit burning glass lamps with wicks. These were used by jewelers. Watch makers, in laboratories and for hobbies. We are not certain of the age of the lamps but the glass has the wavy appearance. Bubbles and seeds characteristic of antique Victorian glass. The largest lamp measures about 4.25" high with the cap on. The metal cap contains the wick and is screw threaded. As is the neck of the glass lamp. The base glass has molded"Made in USA" The middle size lamp measures about 3" high to the top of the glass. The wick passes through a metal collar and closure. Unique Bronze Laboratory/Camper/Marine Alcohol Burner Primus? Sweden?
Offered here is a precision alcohol burner or stove that is made of solid bronze or brass. I've tried to find something like it on the internet and the only thing that closely resembles it is a Primus(Swedish) Camping Stove. There are no markings on any of the three beautifully made parts. The entire piece weighs almost three pounds and measures 5" tall. The top diameter is 4.5" wide and the base measures 3.75" in diameter. The alcohol chamber is accessible by unscrewing the top. The construction is so solid that I think it would be impossible for it to leak anywhere. The burner has 16 small holes for the flame. The top part fits snugly on the base but is not screwed on. It just sits there. There is a small wad of cotton inside the wick chamber near the burner. It is possible that if it was not made for laboratory use, ... moreit could have been for marine use.
