It is quite small… and it runs off of a standard Boss type power supply. So how does it sound? The answer: pretty funkin’ good! It is very quacky and funky. Plus it tracks what you are playing extremely well. There are controls for Level and Range and both give you many options from the subtle to the intense. I’ve found the sweet spot to be around noon for both controls, ... morebut this is a fairly sensitive filter so even changing pickups will change the effect– sometimes significantly. It responds well to your picking dynamics producing different wah sounds and the harder you pick the more the envelope opens so the more“wah” you get. Cosmetic condition is very good. With the usual assortment of nicks and dings. The bottom plate is missing two of its four screws. Functionally the pedal is in perfect working order. This auction is for a truly unique Vestax DWG-X1 Professional DJ Effector Dynamic Filter. It features an Effects Mix slider. A Manual slider which can be used to sweep the filter like a wah pedal, a 5-band Frequency EQ(it EQs only the filter, not the clean signal) a Mode switch knob with Env(elope) LFO, Down Sweep, Remote(for expression pedal) and Manual(for the Manual slider) modes, Gate(threshold) and Speed controls, an expression pedal input, RCA/phono input and output, and a Phono/Line/CD switch(whew! The 5-band Frequency EQ is amazing! I’m a filter freak. And I’ve tried a TON of them, but I’ve never heard anything like the variety of vocal tones I can get using the Freq EQ on the unit. Up for auction is a vintage Musitronics Mutron III envelope filter from the early 1970's with the original boxes for both the pedal and the PS-1 power supply. This is a well-loved example with many scratches. Velcro and tape residue. The pedal does have its share of small cosmetic scratches throughout. The screw to close the battery compartment is absent. The boxes exist but they are repaired with duct tape(some writing on the boxes as well) All functions are working as they should. This particular pedal does overdrive quickly in the gain section. Debuting in 1972, Musitronic’s Mu-Tron III was the first stand-alone effects device of its kind, literally defining an entirely new category of effects and setting the standard for every envelope filter and auto-wah that was to follow– a standard many believe has yet to be matched. The Musitronics Corporation of Rosemont. New Jersey was formed in 1972 in an attempt to salvage an aborted synthesizer project. The groundbreaking Mu-Tron III was the result. The unit was designed by Musitronics engineer and co-founder, Mike Beigel, using technology he had developed while designing a synthesizer for Guild Guitars. After Guild President Alfred Dronge was killed in a plane crash in 1970, the company made the decision to shut down their electronic division to focus strictly on guitars, abruptly pulling the plug on the Beigel’s synthesizer.
