1960/70's Whitefriars Willow Basket Weave Slab Vase- Geoffrey Baxter Offering for sale this very cool late 1960's/ early 1970's Whitefriars glass slab vase which was designed by Geoffrey Baxter and has basket weave decoration across the front. It stands 10.125 inches high and measures 4.75 inches wide and carries a polished pontil mark to the base. I believe the colour is Willow. For complete accuracy there are some tiny air bubbles trapped within the glass and also one or two'straw lines' All of which have occurred during manufacture and in no way detract. Pattern number: 9655. Measures 19.cm tall and diameter across the base is 4.8cm. Vase is in good condition with no chips. Cracks or bruises. The record should show no obvious signs of wear. A 45 RPM or EP sleeve should have no more than the most minor defects. Such as almost invisible ring wear or other sights of slight handling. An LP jacket should have no creases, folds, seam splits or any other noticeable similar defect. No cut-out holes, either. Near Mint Minus(NM- A record that should play mint but has a few slight visible marks. The album will have as much luster as an NM. There just may be some superficial scuffs from the sleeve or very light hairlines ... morethat shouldn't be audible. An NM- album cover subjectively fits somewhere in between VG+ and NM. Designed by Geoffrey Baxter in the late 1960s. A hollow form with a flat, polished lower base rim, the sides have textured surfaces with a smooth. It is from Everts The Official State Atlas of Kansas(Philadelphia: L.H. Everts& Co. 1887) one of the rarer state atlases. A copy of the title page is included for authenticity. The atlas is the first to compile and show in detail the various counties, cities and towns of Kansas. The maps show much details including towns, townships, sections, quarter sections, schools, some houses and other details. On some maps there are surveryor seals, signatures ... moreand script that were printed in the plate, many of these maps were originally procured from the Kansas Survey offices and reproduced for the atlas. The maps were first printed by lithographic process and then the color washes were hand applied, often with stencil for the large fields of color. The map is not mounted, matted nor framed being sold as seen in the pics, photographed against a dark background. There are maps and town plans on both sides as seen, so if framing one would have to choose a side to frame. Overall, a very nice rare example in very good condition for its age. Size: The entire page measures 14 by 17 1/2 inches with the map image area slightly smaller as shown in the pic with a margin all around. Condition: It is in Good condition for its age printed on a light buff page and original handcoloring as issued. It is basically as seen in the pics. There is some light wear around the edges. RARE FORREST W BAXTER VETERAN WWI ARMY & WWII NAVY TRENCH ART ID'D PHOTO PATCHES
Hello! Thanks for stopping in to look at one of my auctions. In this auction I have a rare veterans personal items lot up for auction. These items all belonged to Forrest W. Baxter Ogdensburg. NY who served in both WWI and WWII. Items included a 3 1/2" X 5 1/2" army photo circa.1917, next is a photo circa 1918 shows 4 soldiers two of which are ID'd Forrest and Edward Tipson from Canton, NY. Next is a circa 1918 2 1/2" X 4 1/4" photo of Forrest at Camp Wadsworth, SC. Next is a circa 1944 Navy photo of Forrest it is 3 1/4" X 5 1/4" Next are 2 metalsmith navy patches. Next is a pocket mirror with a photo of Forrest circa 1925. Next are 2 trench art picture frames in the shape of a ships wheel they are 3" across. Last is a homemade memory board Circa 1918.
