The UR-556 is utilized to adapt the UX-120(long pin) power amplifier tube to a radio having UV(short pin) sockets. The UX-120 was designed to provide increased loud speaker volume when replacing a UV-199 in a circuit. Both UX-120's and the UR-556 are in excellent physical condition. A mainstay in early FM transmitters these tubes can operate up to 120Mhz as a class C amplifier. The writing is almost non existent on both tubes.There is a date co de that I can see on one of the tubes which reads 84-06. I checked these tubes for shorts with my DVM& found none.I did get a reading across the filament pins& as you can see. The filaments do light up.I also got a reading across the grid pins.There were no readings from the plate to any of the pins. The tubes are clean. As shown. Audio amp and power supply removed from EH Scott AW-12(latter version) This radio used the dual field coil speaker. I recapped the amp and tested the power supply under load(DONT test without a load! and the DC output voltages were good. I did not have a good pair of 45 tubes or a good speaker so that was the extent of the testing. Somebody painted the chassis in silver paint. I don't know what it looks like under the paint! Magnavox tube power amp 175 FF 6V6 working strong tested tubes amplifier
This is a Magnavox model 175 FF power amp in good working condition. The power tubes include 3 smoked glass RCA 6V6GT and 1 Tung Sol 6V6GTA. All 4 power tubes test strong between 100-110 where 80 is minimum good and 140 is max. It comes with 2 vintage US 12AX7s that test strong. The chassis is clean with no rust. I gave it a quick wipe down. But it should clean up very nicely with a bit of effort. Please note: This amp is in unmodified and is not"plug and play" This will need to be updated before it should be considered safe to use and is being sold as-is because of that. Sorry to cancel and relist. There was an error in the shipping dimensions for the original listing that I couldn't fix and which made shipping show up as higher than it actually is. This is a used Fisher 680-A stereo power amplifier. It was removed from a working Fisher console stereo. The tubes are 7591 beam power output tubes. The tubes in the unit are original Fisher branded tubes. The 12AX7 tubes are ECC83 tubes made in Holland, also Fisher Branded. My best guess is that Fisher sourced them from Amperex. The unit came with a tuner preamplifier and a multiplex adaptor. If you buy the amplifier I will give you the option to buy the tuner preamp and Fisher MPX 70 multiplex adaptor. I'll take $100 for the preamp and $75 for the multiplex. Plus shipping. Probably the best way for me to do that will be as a fixed price sale through ... moreebay. And his family has begun to clear out his house. There is hardly a scratch anywhere on the amp. The chassis could use a good buffing, but will look great once this is done. It has not been used in at least three years. You will need to use a Variac when bringing it up. Some capacitors may need to be replaced. We will guarantee the transformers. Everything else is as-is. Drake L4b linear amplifier, 3-500z tubes,power supply, original box and papers
Drake L4b amplifier with 2 3-500zs they are the eimac tubes. I do not own a trustworthy external watt meter but the on-board watt meter shows 500 watts in the cw-tune mode and about 1200 in the SSB mode and the grid current and plate voltage is as per listed in the manual. Works well on 75-80-40-20, I don't have an antenna to try the other bands, it is in use now. I would welcome an on-air test anytime.No smoking here and unlikely that its been smoked around. Any new England hams are welcome to come here to my qth and give the amp a go! I have the original box for the amp as well as the owners manual and warranty cards.all the paper work that came with it. kind of neat for a collector!
