Up for bids is a nice pair of UX-245 Globe Audio Triode Tubes by RCA. The tubes are used. Each one tests good and strong on my EICO dynamic tester and they show no shorts or leakage. The tubes are clean and in great condition. These are early globe types from the mid or late 1920's. Each has its lettering. Logos and numerals embossed into the black bakelite tube base. They have large black plates and lower side getters. The silver flashing on each tube looks great. The tubes are each firmly attached to their bases. The bases and tube pins are also clean and in good condition. These types were used in radios and old amps for audio output in single-ended circuits as well as in push-pull pairs. One rare working pair of 2A3 Sator TUNGSRAM power audio dht triode tubes. The tubes are very similar to RCA's except the unique tension springs that hold the filaments. Tubes are made by Hungarian TUNGSRAM company that was labeling their tubes as SATOR. This marking is visible on both tubes. Under the RCA lent octagon sign that surrounds the 2A3 characters. The tubes have been checked by my AVO tube tester and both give a low green"good tube" indication. Similar results are seen using a Hickoc 600 tester. This means that both tubes are still 100% usable. The tubes are good for a SE amplifier that will outperform darker sounding 300B SE amps at the expense of lower power and possibly less bass punch. I hesitate to call this NOS just because it is in the box with original packing HOWEVER it IS a good strong tube. 100 Watt tube popular in the AM days of ham radio as either a final or class B modulator. I'll include single data sheet from Taylor catalog. More in depth data and performance curves are likely to be found in a thorough search of the internet. The pins where heavily oxidized and a little corroded from sitting and humidity. I cleaned them before testing. The box is in poor condition missing both end flaps.
