Hallmarked Irvine& Jachens. From what I could find on the internet, Bethlehem Steel built ships at one of the ports in SF and the Special Police there were sworn in with full Police Powers to use deadly force against any and all War Saboteurs during WW2. This badge has wear from use and measures 3 1/4 inches point to point. The catalog states, the lantern may be carried in the hand or attached to a belt by a spring clip. Also, this type of'Police' Lantern is known as the'Flash' through the operator's ability to throw a beam of light or cut it off at will. One of them has a red clip on lens. They are made of cast and extruded aluminum and are good examples of mid century industrial design and craftsmanship. It came from a local estate sale and is in working order with what looks like a relatively new cord(no switch-you just plug it in) It has a hole thru the two ends like it should have a pole thru it but it's got"stuff" inside that would be in the way. Rare Find Industrial Light Spot Light Police Machine Age 1914 Ratrod Steampunk
I have a antique spot light believed to be from a police automobile. The light is from Old Sol Lighting Systems. Hawthorne MFG Co. out of Bridgeport Conn. Made in the USA. The date is Nov. 10, 14. This believed to be the year 1914. It is in good condition considering it is close to 100 years old. The glass is good and also has a mounted mirror that look a little foggy, see images. On the back handle it appears to be missing it’s on and off switch. This would be considered the very earliest automotive spot light. This would have been found on police cars in the early teen’s or possibly as a automotive accessory. It has a clamp on mounting bracket that would attach to the windshield frame on the car. This would look great converted over to household electric lamp in your studio or office. Of course you will want to rewire this light with new ... morewiring. Up for auction is a Whelen FasTrax8 position LED or Strobe housing assembly. This is"Old School Whelen" at it's Best! First and foremost. There are NO LIGHTHEADS included with this item; it is JUST THE HOUSING. It will fit 1998 through 2011 Ford Crown Vic Police Package Vehicles. The unit came from the factory with a matte ABS white plastic finish. We had the housing painted"Ford White" at our local Ford Dealership. This unit was installed on a demo vehicle for approximately 3 months. The lighthead in the picture is simply there to illustrate a possible use for the housing; for example, we built it with 400 linear"over/under" LED lightheads. The top row was the primary warning color, and the bottom row was an 8 lamp traffic advisor. Installation is simple with 3M automotive trim tape. This is a very nice BLUE Police Call Box Light. It was used on Gamewell and other brands of Police Call boxes. It measures 10" long and weighs 2 1/2 pounds. It has a porcelain light socket with wires. It has a clear glass light cover and a protective cage. It has been repainted Navy Blue and it comes with a BLUE light bulb. It is wired for 110 A/C voltage(household current) There is a 1/2" pipe nipple in the bottom for mounting to the top of the call box.
