Up for auction is this top quality machinists/ jeweler's tool chest. I had been told by a bidder that it was not Gerstner. So I went on a hunt for the maker. Though it does not have a badge, all the details match with Alex Dunn. The drawer profiles, brass) hardware, and unique circle in a square mirror, all match with existing examples of Alex Dunn. Lower drawer bottoms are metal. Upper drawer bottoms are wood. This box comes with the original key! It locks the top, and the top engages throw bolts that lock the cover for the boxes. Great design, and the cases and felts are not in bad shape. Unfortunately, this case has what looks like(a gloppy) coat of polyurathane finish over the outside. Nice. Solid and strong carved walnut 7-drawer(each lined in thick green felt) display case for a Franklin Mint collection(though I am not sure which collection) The box is in very nice condition with the exception of a sliver of wood missing on the back bottom edge and some roughness to that edge; also, the brass plaque is gone but I am confident another trim piece can replace it without much effort. It measures roughly 20-5/8" in width, is 11-3/4" high and 15" front to back. The top drawer is flat while each of the other six drawers has 17 round depressions, each of which measures 2-5/8" in diameter. Each drawer front or face measures 1-1/8" high.

Antique/ Vintage 7 Drawer Dark Oak Machinists Tool Chest Up for auction is a nice old 7 drawer solid oak machinist tool chest box. I don't see a manufcture plate on this chest but the construction. Metal corner plates, hinges, latches and the lock latch configuration resembles a Grestner chest. The drawer pulls have been replaced with pulls that have"DISSTON" printed on them. The wood is in good condition with no damage. Cracks or splits. The felt is worn and t here are a few scratches but nothing major. All of the joints are tight and the latches and hinges work properly. There is a locking plunger rod on the right side that engages the front cover to secure it in place when the lid is closed. Ocassionally. the front cover needs to be pushed to the right a little so the plunger will engage. All of the metal corner plates are ... morepresent and the handle is present and functional but has some wear on the leather. There is no key for the chest. VTG Craftsman Machinists 7-Drawer chest and lower roller cabinet box pair!
Check out this beautiful Craftsman Top and Bottom chest. There are first off-no keys and I have not cleaned up this beauty since I obtained it. The bottom of the cabinet has some light bends in the cover. However it elevates and can be secured properly. New locks and keys could probably be sourced without too much difficulty. There is a small bit of damage on the lower corner in the rear of the top chest(see picture) however it does not cause any problems with the drawers. It could easily be knocked back out) Also-there is a small tab that goes on the inside of the top chest cover which is"missing" Its purpose is to press the locking pin down into the center top drawer, and nothing else. This tab was only spot welded on and it appears to have been missing for a LONG time. Although the tab is missing, all the other drawers lock with ... morethe side locks which secure when the top lid is lowered. All slides work nice on top and bottom chests. This is a really nice pair of boxes-I'd like to sell them as a pair. If there is enough interest in them separately-please send your offers. I do obviously have a starting price-but its fair when compared to the prices these boxes have been bringing lately by themselves. Local pickup is best-but they can be shipped. I don't have the shipping prices listed-but they can be negotiated. Please ask all questions prior to bidding. If more pictures are needed, just ask. Here is a nice solid vintage 7 drawer Kennedy machinist tool box. Does have some wear and light surface rust in spots. I do believe this box will clean up really nicely. The metal is still very solid with many years of use left. Has a leather handle in nice condition. It does not have a key and the latch where the lock is located is lose. Antique Kennedy 7 Drawer Locking Machinists Brown Metal Tool Box Chest W/ KEY
You are bidding on a used. Antique Kennedy machinist's tool box WITH THE KEY. It has 7 drawers and measures roughly 20-3/16" wide, 9" deep(including hinges and lock) 14" tall(including the leather handle) and weighs 28 lbs. 12 oz. As you can clearly see in the pictures. The box exhibits wear, rust, splatters of some sort, and the leather handle has deteriorated. Everything about this box works as it should, from the lock to the sliding of the drawers, to the front fascia"holders" when the top is closed. The drawers and top section still have most of the green felt intact, but it has deteriorated significantly. The only Kennedy marking I could locate is on the underside of the lid, as pictured.
