The metal carrying handle and harp clasps/closures all work correctly. And the four fold out cantilever metal trays are also in great working condition. Although I have not found a maker's mark, there are large horizontal diamond shapes on both sides of the box that look like the Sherman-Klove Company's logo plate from Chicago, IL. I have not attempted to clean the toolbox, which is black on the outside and red on the inside. There is some rusting, scratches, and minor denting as shown in the photos, typical with use from the age of this piece. Rare 1940's/50s CRAFTSMAN Cantilever Toolbox round top lunch box/mailbox vintage
Craftsman cantilever toolbox circa 1940s or 50s. Great unique style with a round top roof& long handle. Reminds me of a vintage lunch box or mailbox. When opened you have 2 trays that slide open with the lids. Trays open good but do get a little jammed up occasionally, nothing terrible, just takes a little wiggle to get it going! Box itself is in good condition, has some surface rust inside& out but metal is still sturdy& not rusted completely through. Previous owners initials are painted nicely onto lid. Chrome finish is peeling off handle. Great box for a restoration project! Measurements are 19-1/2" long x 9" wide x 10" tall& weighs approx 14lbs

There isn't much to explain here that isn't better conveyed by the pictures. This is a nice vintage Kennedy Kits model 1018 cantilever toolbox in very nice shape. As described in the condition notes and shown in the photos. There's a scrape in the paint on the handle, a bit of surface rust on the chrome handle brackets and in some divided trays, a few scuffs on the bottom and other minor blemishes. The hinges, trays and latch all work smoothly, and there are no significant dents or mechanical flaws. If you happen to be out West somewhere, note that I've set up a Parcel Post shipping option because Priority gets expensive when sending things that far.
