Vintage Top Notch Childrens Hip Rubber Boots Circa 1900
These cute hip rubber boots were worn by my great uncle in the year 1900. They are in remarkably in good condition for beinging folded in half for years. They are approx. 14 1/2 inches tall and the foot measures 6 inches. Not sure of the shoe size. It appears that he wore them quite a bit as the soles are worn. The cracks and one tear does not effect the appearance and uniqueness of the boots. I can just imagine a small boy walking the mud flats of Maine with his clam hoe and basket enjoying the warm sunny day. These boots would make a nice display in any setting. Maybe a man cave.
