This is a vintage sign for S& H Green Stamps that would have been on a shelf in the store. Or setting on the counter.probably by the cash register. It is set up like a picture frame with the pull out back to make it stand up on it's own. It has nicks and marks, probably a little dirt too, but really unique piece. I have probably owned it since about 1970 and I bought it in an antique store then. Was a conversation piece at that time. You would save your green stamps, and paste them in a book, and then you could trade them in for products, usually for your home. I can remember my Mom and I would use a sponge and make them wet, then place them in the green stamp books. We could not wait to pick out something, and at times my Mom would let me pick out a toy. On the back of the sign, where you stand it up there is an imprint which is ... morehard to read but I think it says: POINTO'SALEADVTG NEW YORK 17. N.Y. At the top of the sign it says: Established 1896 and at the bottom it says: The Sperry and Hutchinson Company It is rough around the edges. With some scrapes, and scratches, and it is what I would call a pressed board. Almost like a peg board material, with the S& H Green Stamp part a shinny print. The rough around the edges is that print. I don't know any other way to describe it. It is hard to find these, but then one that sets on the counter is even more unique. Sometimes, they would display some of the gifts in the store that you could get, and this sign would set among them as well. I am parting with this because I have to downsize. And I have an S& H Green Stamp wall light that I adore, so I still have those great memories of pasting those stamps and picking out a gift with my Mom. I am 64 so this is telling you how old this is. It stands approximately 15 1/8" high and 9 1/8" wide. It has the appearance of a green stamp book by the lines underneath the name"The Sperry and Hutchinson Company"at the bottom, appearing to look like the pages in the book. You can see that in

Set of Five Jacksons of Piccadilly Mini Tea Tins Here’s a wonderful set of five miniature tea tins from Jacksons of Piccadilly. And in nice condition. Colors include brick red, a cornflowery(yet dusky) blue, green, black, and cream. Not sure on dating, probably 1980s, but could possibly be more recent than that. The vintage wear and patina is fairly light for the most part. There are some small or tiny areas of wear. Some small and/or light scratches and scuffs, some light handling marks and normal vintage soiling, perhaps a minor dent or ding, etc. The blue tin shows the most wear, with one side having a cluster of tiny areas of wear and scratches. And some noticeable wear on upper base where lid fits over. The others have a little wear where lid fits over. Too. Red tin also has some clusters of tiny areas of wear and light scratches. Black ... moretin has a longer scratch. But it is rather fine. The lid on the white tin has aged to a slightly different color than the base. Metal rims are darkening. Some darkening patina in the early stages inside. And there is darkening around the crevices, but some of this looks to be tea residue. Tins open and close fine, with a couple needing a little bit of coaxing. All of the wear is on the lighter side of things. And was difficult to capture in photographs. Approximate size of each tin is about 2 1/8” in diameter by about 4” tall. Separately. I would sell these for around $15 apiece to include free shipping for a total of $75, so buying the set together is like getting one tin for free. The tins are empty. If you like tins. 24" Strand of Green Venetian Chevrons + Striped Beads
24 inch strand of small green Venetian chevrons(2 shades) and striped glass beads(2 types) ~3-4mm long and ~5-6mm wide. These beads were made in the early 1900's and were bought in West Africa in 1970- 1980. They are mostly in good condition showing some signs of wear(some small chips) due to age and use as trade beads. Recognizable and collectable of all of the Venetian"Trade Beads" Chevrons beads are made by a multi-part ... moreprocess. They start with the making of the cane. Then another color glass is added and then this is usually put into a 12 point star mold. This process is repeated for each additional layer on the bead. Chevron beads. Also called"Rosetta"and"Star" beads have been made Venice since the late 1400's and are still in limited production today. The earliest chevrons were typically 7 layers of color and this production ran from the late 1400's through to the 1500's. There are also 8.9, and 10 layer beads from this period. The next production phase was in the 1600s-1700s and the layer count went down to 3 and 5 layer beads and the majority of these were heat rounded via the"a speo" method. The Venetian Chevron production with the highest volume of beads was in the late 1800's and Mid 1900's. These beads were usually 4 and 6 layer beads. Chevron beads have been traded throughout the world. But most heavily in Africa. The Dutch traders were the first to bring Chevron beads to Africa in the late 1400's.
