Condition is pretty much as it appears in photos. It is old; as its handcrafted it is somewhat primitive and is unfinished on undersides that don't show. When assembled, this bookcase measures about 23 1/2 inches wide to the end of the slats, 33 1/3 inches high at the highest point and 11 inches front to back at the feet. The slats appear to be made of solid pine wood, while the end standards are 7-ply wood with solid"feet" The wood is stained a sort of medium honey brown, with darker stain to the feet and slats. There are some splintery edges to the notches, scattered dings and shallow digs to the wood and an 8" hairline surface crack to the inside of one of the end standards. Up for auction is vintage Schwinn bicycle child's rear seat. I don't know much about these so look carefully. I also didn't mount it to a bike. So I don't know if all of the mounting hardware is present. The cushion is in good shape with no holes in the overmolding. There is the remnant of a label on the front edge of the seat. The metal frame is a light blue. There are some rough spots and rusty spots. Overall I would give it a 6 or 7 out of 10. Both side plates a embossed Schwinn and stamped Made in USA. It is missing one endcap on the left handrail. No seatbelt. And I don't know if it came with one. It folds into a cargo rack too. It is probably from the 1920's or 30's The knobs are probably replacements from maybe the 1950's or 60's. The entire thing(frame and boxes) is made from some very old rough sawn wood. But I am not sure of the specie. FEATURES: The drawers are solid wood and have box joints. ADD. INFO: It is currently a semi gloss white(spray painted) probably in the 50's or 60's and before that it was brush painted that pale"diner" yellow probably from the 30's or 40's and before that I think it may have been unfinished(and a bit more dignified) its first couple decades. It is possible that this is older. But I try to be conservative. SIZE: It measures about 10" wide x 5-1/2" ... moredeep x 16-1/2" tall The inside dimensions of the boxes are 3-3/4" wide x 4-1/8" deep x 2" tall. COLOR: semi gloss white TYPE: antique kitchen spice or tea cabinet CIRCA: likely around the mid 1920's give or take 10 years MATERIAL: Rough sawn wood planks. Mill-cut CONDITION: as can be seen it is painted white and that was over the yellow and it has some dings and dents. One of the drawers looks like the top edge got carved off for some reason along the way? can't imagine how that came to be. But all the drawers go in and out and fit into their respective openings fairly well. It is solid and very secure, over the decades the wood has dried out but is not warped at all. So because of its age and condition this is being sold"AS IS" Its old and seen some days but I think it has more character than anything else! A very handsome old piece. I think if I were to keep this one I would strip every drop of paint off of it and hand rub it with paste wax, I know there are some of you out there that would scream bloody murder over that but I love natural wood grain.
