This unit was used to spray one house in 2010 and was stored without flushing. The original purchaser sent to me to refurbish. Here's what was done. Replaced: Fluid manifold and fittings. ISO return valve, ISO gauge, ISO heater to manifold tube, ISO pressure transducer, lube bottle. Rebuilt ISO pump. Fusion AP gun. Hook up an air line that supplies filtered, clean, dry air, connect the ground wire to a known good earth ground, attach a ground wire to the metal object being painted and attach the opposite end of the ground wire to a known good earth ground and start spraying. The 4500SC gun has two electrostatic power settings. Low is 65kv High is 85kv. The right switch on the back of the gun allows the user to switch from one to the other as needed and the switch on the left of the back ... moreallows the user to turn the electrostatic capability on or off. We use these electrostatic spray guns to apply epoxy primers. 2k urethane primers, base coat colors, both solids and metallics and urethane clear coats. It is amazing to see how nice pale gold metallics lay out. Just to be able to spray large items like buses and helicopters and NOT have to watch a cloud of paint get drawn into the exhaust is very nice. Specially when the base colors cost $600 per gallon. I sold two of these set ups to a guy in Arizona the other was a 3500sc. He told me that when he was using HVLP guns he went through 45-60 gallons of paint per week painting new wrought iron fences that he fabricates. With the electrostatic spray guns he now only uses 10 gallons of the same paint to paint the same number of fence sections that previously required 45-60 gallons per week. GRACO AA4000 Electrostatic Air Assisted Airless Paint Spray Gun for liquid paints This is the same spray gun model that was used to paint the British Airways Concord super sonic jets. This is a used Graco AA4000 Electrostatic Air Assisted Airless Paint Spray Gun. I have a number of these spray guns that I purchased but never used. I bought them from a Graco factory Rep who told me that they were used one time for a demo. As you can see by the pictures that this gun looks like it never has been used more than the one demonstration. One of my customers wanted me to paint a few of their heavy cranes. At that time we used just a standard Garco Silver Airless gun with a.009” Graco Fine Finish Tip for the application of the black Imron, which went on beautifully except without the cloud of overspray associated with an air atomizing spray gun. Even ... morethough the overspray was at a minimum with the Graco Silver gun it was a major pain to paint around all the steel bar. The electrostatics would have been a real treat to use. I came across the opportunity to grab a few of these AA4000 demo guns just in case the need to paint one of these monster cranes came up again. I decided not to get involved with that type work so I never had the opportunity to try these out. If they are anything like the other Graco electrostatic equipment that I have and use then I can assure you that you will not be disappointed by this gun. I suspect that you most likely will be amazed as I was the first time I used a Graco electrostatic gun. This air assisted airless gun requires a paint pump to supply paint to it. Maximum Fluid pressure rating for this gun is 65bar/ 950 psi. The maximum air pressure input is 7bar/ 100psi. The air assist feature feathers the top& bottom tails of the airless spray pattern to give it a“finer” spray pattern.
