This is a Devilbiss automotive spray paint gun and it has been stored for a long time. It has a number of type MBC and 914470. My neighbor asked to borrow it last weekend to paint a car and he told me that it worked great and I assume it did as the car he painted looked good. It has been cleaned but may still need some minor cleaning for your preference. I do not know how old it is as my late husband had it for many years and he did use it. Or any diagonal] Quart size paint reservoir- very tight clamp mechanism in fine working order. Exterior is good except for the faint residue on one part of the exterior of the tank. Note: fitting[brass] on the air intake is a standard compression male size(think this is 3/8" Total weight = 2 Pounds 10 Ounces- INDUSTRIAL GRADE Aluminum and steel. Age is guessed- probably made around 1970- 1980 more or less Serial Number = 728347 CONDITION: 9.0 out of 10- GOOD FUNCTIONAL CONDITION- guaranteed to function. Devilbiss Type ECA 501 Touch-up paint spray gun w. 8 oz Binks cup
This is a Devilbiss type FCA 501 siphon type spray gun with#394 air nozzle and complete with a Binks 8 ounce cup. The body of the gun bears a patent number. 2462419, which was issued in 1949. The cup is relatively clean but the siphon tube and inlet to the gun have traces of dried yellow paint. See pictures for details.
