Vintage Brown & Sharpe mechanical revolution counter-Collectables-USA
For sale is a toolmaker or engineers tool used to count revolutions of the end of a shaft or of a live turning center. A drill point etc. This tool is stamped"Brown& Sharpe MFG CO. Providence R.I. U.S.A. and with their trademark and"746" The case is 1-5/8" in diameter and 1/2" thick and the shaft is 1" long with a removable rubber tip. In operation the shaft when pressed against a rotating shaft counts revolutions. The indicators show revolution numbers 0 to 100 by 5's. The two indicators allow readings in either rotation direction. At every 100 revolutions the side of the case clicks against your finger to allow readings greater than 100. HAND COUNTER Offered for sale is one vintage hand counter with a reset button. And the only markings are ENM which I believe to be the manufacturer. It has a base plate with four screw holes to enable it to be screwed down to a bench etc. This is a used item which must be around 50 years old. But it is still in good working order, the only blemish being a cracked glass. PLEASE NOTE: PROOF OF POSTING IS ALWAYS OBTAINED. SMALL PRINT. This is a nice Vintage Mechanical ARM Style Counter. It has been used. This one came off of a NIAGRA 3 1/2 STEEL PRESS that came from a CHICAGO Company back years ago. It still works well. Knob on the side to roll it back to 0 still works well. This one has a ARM on the side with a Chain attached and when the piece it is hooked to moves it makes the arm go down and up and that counts as one. It is still attached to the Original Green Metal Plate that was on the Press. Cool Old Mechanical Piece. I will say it is OILY and GREASY as it was in a PRESS at the MECHANICAL SHOP for Years. The coin goes into his mouth and rolls to the bottom where it lands in one of three numbers. When the lever in the back is pulled the eyes and tongue roll back. A Vintage Veeder-Root 3 Digit Mechanical Counter Hartford Conn. You are bidding on an original vintage used Antique Veeder-Root Mechanical Counter. The date on bottom is Sept 25. 1950. The counter measures approx. 3 inches in overall length. The four(3) digit counter is in working condition and counts to 999 before returning to 000. It turns freely in both directions. Condition is good. Missing only a little of the label and black paint on the edges. Appears to be mostly made of a ferrous metal(reacts to magnet) with a brass gear.
