The letter slot is screwed to a fancy oak board for presentation purposes only. If you make the purchase, we will remove the two mail slot pieces from the board. so. no wood board is included. This is what we referred to as a medium size mail slot. It was Baldwin model# 0015 in standard brass(not the lifetime brass that came later) The overall measurements are approximately 10" wide x 3" tall. The slot opening(where the mail goes through) measures approximately 7 1/2" wide x 1 3/8" high. This listing includes both parts. The top part for the outside of the door has a spring-loaded flap that keeps the flap closed tightly to keep out the wind. The bottom ... morepart is for the inside of the door. It does not have to be used since i t has no function other than covering the rough opening of the hole in your door. The outside part is pretty new looking with some very minor surface scratches. Rare 1890's Glycerole Shoe Dressing retail display Steamer Trunk Tin
This rare tin is a retail advertising display tin for Glycerole. A shoe dressing manufactured by Restorff And Bettmann of NY. The unusual design follows the look of a steamer trunk. In 2010 a similar tin was on auction with an estimated value of $250 To $600. I don't know the final price paid. The inside of the top shows a great display ad for the shoe dressings. The brass lock is intact but the key is missing. A great and rare display tin. Size: 13"x 7" high x 9" deep.
