This long. Wooden, towel rack measures 30"L x 11"H. It was in really nice condition, so I opted to give it a fresh coat of stain, and painted the top in acrylics. It is a rural farm scene with four Shelties. Two sable, in the middle, a blue merle to the right and a teeny tri, near the barn, to the left. It was given a spray Valspar gloss for protection. Art Nouveau Rennie Macintosh Glasgow Rose Beaten Repousse Wall Letter Rack 1910s This is a lovely antique hammered metal wall-hanging divided box- possibly a letter rack. Maybe to hold brushes or other tools- probably made in England in the early years of the 20th century. The rectangular box is made of some kind of beaten metal. I'm not sure which- hammered with a pattern of small hollows. The back and the front are both decorated with a repousse'Glasgow rose' the Charles Rennie Macintosh emblem as used in the famous Willow Tea Rooms in Glasgow. The front of the box has a brass trim, and the corners at the top are angled, with 2 holes for wall-hanging. The box is in great antique condition. With acceptable age-related wear and no damage; the piece is unmarked. I haven't attempted to clean the metal, and it has a wonderful ... moreburnished patina. Bookends Sliding Expandable Rack Judd No 9790 Antique Art Nouveau A & C Deco
This sliding/ expanding desk top book rack has elements of Art Nouveau. Art's& Craft's and Art Deco Design in the cast iron end pieces, My opinion is that it is transitional Art Nouveau/ Art's& Craft's and that it is very attractive. The only marking is raised numbers"9790" on the back lower side of the end castings which is probably a Catalog number. My guess is that these were made by Judd but they could be Bradley& Hubbard or possibly some other maker. The end pieces are cast iron with brass plating, the square& round tubing is brass and the inside tubing that is silver colored is plated steel. The end castings are 7 1/8 inches wide by 4 3/4 inches high. They are 12 inches from end to end at the minimum and expand to a maximum of 21 1/2 inches wide. This has quite a lot of tarnish, patina or Corrosion ... morebut the castings are good, the slide and hinge functions are in good working order and it is attractive. The end panels of the rack feature stylized deco gazelles with curved flourishes and flower and leaf motifs. The paint is a pale butter color. It is likely not original. As there are some drips here and there. As seen in the photo, the paint is chipped in some areas; but the color is great as is the patina. The condition is excellent vintage with no damage, but surface wear and some dings to the thinner sheet metal panels inside, that you would expect from a piece of this age. There is a replacement nut on one end panel, and a new threaded rod underneath which holds the unit together. All other hardware is original. This is a great piece to restore or use as is. Thank you for your interest in this Vintage Griffith art deco milk glass spice jar set in the original metal& wood rack. This is the less common 18-jar rack. However I only have 17 jars, two of which are replacement jars without the fired-on design. The upside is that there are 15 original jars. 12 of which still have their rear paper label. See photos. It should be relatively easy to find the three jars needed to make this a complete and rare 18-jar set. If I do not sell it. I will take the time to do this myself. All jars have red caps that show some wear and a nice vintage patina. The rack is in good vintage condition with marks on both the metal and wood. The copper strip at the front is tarnished. Great vintage art deco 18 piece milk glass spice bottle/jar rack set made by Griffith's. This was a great estate find! This is a nice spice rack set that comes on a wooden and copper rack. There is some wear to the rack along the copper border on the bottom. But overall nice condition. The rack appears to be original to the piece. There are 18 bottles with no chips or cracks, 4 of the bottles are missing the metal inserts and the caps are not original and have been replaced over the years. You could replace or paint the caps if you would like them all to match, although I liked the mixed color look. There is some wear to some of the caps, such as some paint drips and scratches. Please examine the pictures closely. The bottles measure 1 5/8" wide by 4 1/4" high.
