Up for auction to U.S. customers only are a couple vintage drafting tools- a Brown& Sharpe protractor. Which is in good shape and works find, and a Keuffel& Esser erasing shield in its original envelope, also in good shape. I don't know anything else about these items so please ask questions. This auction is for a vintage Brown and Sharpe Bevel Protractor#496. It is in the original box. Made by Brown and Sharpe Manufacturing Company of Providence RI. The box is well worn and some of the labels are torn and missing. Box has a slight musty smell from being in a garage workshop. Bevel Protractor has 6" and 12" blades. Also has a Brown and Sharpe original envelope with some sort of lock/screw nut. Not sure if it goes with this piece or not. Protractor is in used. But great working condition. Vintage Brown & Sharpe No. 493 12" Bevel Protractor Original Box & Instructions!
You are bidding on a vintage Brown& Sharpe No. 493 bevel protractor. It comes with the original box and the original instruction sheet. It has some surface rust on it from storage but it should come right off with some steel wool. The set screw that holds it on the straight edge is a little stiff and would loosen up with some oil. It is in good condition with no broken pieces and it is nice and straight! All items are sold as is. I do my best to describe them as best as I can but please understand I am not an expert! The Brown& Sharpe 617 Depth Gauge has an adjustable measuring base and a rule scale with graduations of 1/32" and 1/64" A measurement range of 0 to 5" and an accuracy of + or– 0.001" for direct measurement of holes and recesses. The adjustable measuring base can be angled and positioned along the rule and locked into place via the knurled nut. The base is made of hardened steel, measures 2-1/2" long and 1/8" thick at its base, and has 30- 45- and 60-degree angle markings to serve as guide for estimating angles. The rule is made of tempered steel and is 6" long overall. The depth gauge comes with a depth measuring rod. Depth gauges are typically used in manufacturing, machining, and mechanical engineering. Depth gauges are precision measuring instruments used to determine the depth of any shape that has ... morea step, groove, or slot.
