We think that this is a Union Tool Company square head 45 degree protractor. But it is not marked and was stored in a Starrett protractor box so not positive. Appears to be missing gripper knob? 4 1/4" long, 3 3/4" tall. Level liquid looks to be fine with bubble still floating inside. This came out of a small one-man working machinist's shop. This is a vintage(Ca. 1950s) L.S. Starrett No. 490 reversible bevel protractor head(with smooth black enamel finish) for combination squares. It has an identification number of a previous owner etched on the paint. And has minor spotting and wear, but is in SUPER working condition– all calibrations are clear, the level bubble works nicely, it works smoothly. This is a nice addition to your metalworking tooling. Up for bid is a Starrett Protractor Head& Square w/Rulers. The Protractor Head is marked as a No. 12. There is a bubble in the glass tube. The Center finder is marked Starrett as are both rulers too. The rulers a 9" and 12" Everything i s in very good vintage condition with minor wear marks from use. Nice Starrett collectors pieces or still a lot of life left to go back to work! VINTAGE L.S. STARRETT 12" RULE w/ LUFKIN PROTRACTOR & CENTER HEAD - NO ETCHING
Here’s a vintage L. S. Starrett 12 inch Hardened No. 4 Grad Rule in excellent condition. With a vintage Lufkin Protractor Head and Center Head combination. The rule is the rigid thick type and lays perfectly flat. All measurement units and numbers on the rule are clearly legible and there are no dings on the edges. The Protractor and Center Head show wear to the finish as pictured. The Protractor level portion that’s filled with fluid contains a bubble that still moves freely and there are no leaks. I can’t find a brand on the center head but it has the same type of finish as the Lufkin protractor head. There are no previous owner’s initials or markings engraved and there is no rust on any of the pieces. History on this combo tool indicates it was very well cared for.
