I've had these since mid 70s and wore them about a month in 2005 until I found others for riding only to protect these. In the 90s I wore them maybe half a dozen times driving my jeep. I have tried to locate another pair of these over the years with no success. I've only seen one or two other pairs at Collector Shows in the last two decades. Originals in this condition are rare or inthe hands of other collectors. They look great worn with an A-2 or G-1 Jacket or just your flying suit. This is a very nice pair of gore-tex lined leather combat gloves. They are in only slightly used condition. They are labelled a size 11. Inner label also contains the title. NSN and the year of manufacture- 1999. They are made from a supple leather. Coloured a nice matt black. The interiors are lined with gore-tex which makes them both breatheable and quick to dry out. RARE Excellent Original Vintage WWII RAF Pattern 1941 Leather Gloves
Up for bids is a pair of WWII Royal Air Force 1941 pattern brown leather gauntlet style flight gloves with diagonal zippers. These gloves show minimal wear with no rips or tears and are in near mint condition. The zippers work well and the leather pull tabs are intact. The markings are clear and distinct inside. The coloring of the gloves appear to be the same and I would say they are a matching pair. They appear to be marked as size 9. These are genuine original and were brought back by my father who was a tail gunner in a Lancaster bomber with 419 Moose Squadron at Middleton St. George. Up for bid is a Early Vietnam– Cold War USAF GI Issue Leather Cargo LoadMaster Leather Gloves w Wool Inserts Good Good and Grimed out 1960’s Original. Early Vietnam Era GI Issue. Leather Work Gloves with wool inserts. They have 60’s caramel color plastic square adjustment buckles. As first I didn’t want to touch them. Then I realized that these puppies had been all over the Cold War world. And had most likely handled some top Secret stuff loading Uncle’s cargo planes. What a history. Historical; Grime. Read the history section and you will see what I mean. They’ve been broken in. They’re comfortable– it feels good just to put them on. This item is from an estate sale of a 20-year USAF Master Sgt. Please read the“History” section for more info on him. If you like Vietnam aviator stuff. You might ought to consider this one. Condition– Good– ... moregood and grimed out. They have seen a bit of use. No rips or tears. The seams are good. One of the tab extensions on the buckle is most likely on the floor of a C-141 somewhere. The leather is supple but not very clean. Over they’re way cool. Spec’s– Size Unknown– My hand fits a USAF leather glove 6 without wool inserts. The same hand fits in these snug except these have wool inserts. Nomenclature– N/A History–This item(along with others– that I will be listing) came from the estate of a 20 Year Cold War USAF Master Sgt Wilson. He served in the 1950’s– 1960’s as Air Sea Rescue the Flight Engineer and a Loadmaster aboard USAF cargo aircraft. 1) Air Sea Rescue the Flight Engineer– HU-16 Albatross. Early in his career He was in the 38th Air Rescue Squadron– home station Maguire AFB. You are bidding on a pair of WW II-era U.S. Army Air Force electrically heated leather flying gloves for types F-2& F-3 electrically heated flying suits. Gloves are in beautiful condition. These particular gloves have been in my collection for about 17 years and were acquired from a U.S. 8th Air Force veteran who flew aboard a B-24 in Europe as a radar operator in WW II. He told me these gloves were an extra pair he picked up from a quartermaster's shack just before returning home to America when the war in Europe ended(which would explain their great condition) The gloves are still soft and pliable. Nice and clean inside. Each glove has a cloth label sewn inside the cuff with specs, manufacturer’s name(Fox Chase Knitting Mills, Inc. I.
