Antique coal miners hard hat with lamp
Antique coal miners hard hat with original carbide lamp. The origin is unknown although it shows much age and a lot of use including the original owners wife or girlfriends name and presumably his work number. I picked it up years ago at a flea market in Pennsylvania and assume it originally came from there. This item is actually a piece of American history and probably belongs in a museum or someone's personal collection who may have been associated with or related to someone who worked in coal mining. If it could it probably could tell many stories. I did not attempt to clean it for fear of removing it's patina. I take paypal for payment and only ship within the U.S.A. Thanks for looking.

It shows signs of use inclduing some scuff and scratch marks and some discoloration. The is a small crack on the side edge and a crack to the accent piece on top. Please refer to 5th and 7th image. Vintage Coal Miners Hat UNUSUAL!!
Up for auction is a vintage coal miners hat that is in good condition for its age. It is made of hard plastic or fiberglass. I do not see any cracks or break on the hat. It has some scuffs. Scratches and scrapes from use and handling. The inside of the hat is also in good condition. The leather band shows some wear from use and age but is still intact and in useable condition. The hat could use some minor cleaning but thats about it. The name"Wally Knopp" and"W.Va. are marked on the hat. I have included several pictures to show its condition. Any questions, just ask. I am offering for auction a rare vintage brass miners Justrite Carbide Lantern/hard hat Mini Lamp/light with original box. The light is in like new condition and does not appear to have been ever used. No evidence of carbite dust on the unit. The box is in pretty rough condition but feel lucky to just have the original box. I have used some clear shipping tale to try to hold it together. It is quite fragile. There is no lantern Number on the lantern or on the box. Nice rare item in fantastic condition.
