Up for auction is a VINTAGE SUPER LITE SUPERLITE ALUMINUM FIBRE METAL HELMET w/ FULL BRIM. This helmet is in good condition other than a dent on the back left side. It has been painted orange and some of the paint has flaked off. There are 2 blue strips down the back that are peeling up and an old sticker on the front. There are three metal tabs just above the brim which look like they are to hold something around the brim. The head fitting inside is in great condition. With a rectangular stationary eye shield with lens#666 The riveted joint helmet. Is comprised of a molded black composite. This was a machine shop helmet. Hard to find these days, never in this good of shape. Even has it's factory strap guard. Stamped FM on each snap. I have been collecting old tools& car items for years& have had this helmet for almost 30 years myself. When I bought it years ago at an estate sale, I needed a helmet to use& it worked very well. Light brown FibreMetal Chester PA hard hat with all the original inside bells and whistles. Condition: This is definatly one that was used alot in battle somewhere. There is a white paint schmeer near the middle of it(see photo) Scratches and small scuffs throughout, tiny crackles in the paint in places, but not the material which is solid. The inside is a little dirty, the edges have some chips. Yet, I don't see any reason why you couldn't use this today if you wanted. Very rugged looking.

But some of the olive green paint is worn off a little at the back. The material appears to be ABS plastic. The padded headband anh nylon hanger system inside is intact. The actual use is unknown. It waqs purchased at auction with no provenance provided. At about 30 ounces. And with the level of protection provided by ABS, my best guess would be that this is from the 80s or 90s. The helmet would provide a fraction of the protection afforded by modern Kevlar, for instance. Made in the USA. An intesting piece at a very low starting price. No international shipping.
