This auction features a very nice Mine Safety Appliances Company(MSA) McDonald T Aluminum Hard Hat. The hat has been factory painted a light gray/silver/green color on the outside surface. And the inside is the natural aluminum color. The hat's sticker has patents listed up through 1963. The liner adjusts from 6-3/4" up to 7-5/8" This hard hat is in great shape. With some light scratching and one small ding on top, all indicative of use on the job. The liner is in wonderful condition, is fully functional, and appears to be all original. The hat still retains its original MSA sticker on the inside back, which states compliance with the US Dept. of Agriculture 1959 Forest Service Specification, and it is in great condition. This item was never used(it was probably worn- I tried it on myself- but shows no sweat stains on the head band) There are some chips to the original cat yellow paint on the shell + more on the lower edges- the"T" on the CAT decal also has some damage(please see pictures) No dents. Vintage copper colored aluminum hard hat. I could not find a manufacturers name on it. It has an adjustable suspension from size 6 1/2 to 8. Suspension is intact with no damage other than the brown vinyl covering the headband has cracks in it. see pictures) The exterior shell has scratches. Scuffs and one dent. The dent is about 1/4 inch deep. I think it could be pounded out from the inside. The dent does not reach the suspension. Vintage Siebe Gorman Type Hard Hat DIVING KNIFE WW1 era or earlier
Nice vintage Siebe Gorman type hard hat diving knife from the WW1 era. Unmarked as far as I can see on blade or scabbard. Single edged blade has age graying and a light rust patina but no heavy pitting. Edge show evidence of some re-sharpening. Wood handle is nicely finished. But has a crack extending the entire length and some small partial cracks next to the long one. Handle is tight and the form fitting guard fits the scabbard nicely. Scabbard has a riveted in spring to keep the blade in, and boss for a retaining strap which is not present. Scabbard shows age and a nice dark brass/copper patina. Overall a nice example. Vintage Coal Miner Mining Safety Hard Hat Construction Helmet Skullgard MSA Cap
Here for your consideration is this slightly used vintage MSA hard hat. This one again is slightly used but still looks good. The only problems I see is a couple small scratches on the back these are both about 1/2' long, this sill has the adjustable head gear, and it has the original MSA Skullgard label on the inside back. This Helmet is marked MSA under the brim it has the side mounts these are marked parented 1953, the label inside is marked 1959. I'm not sure of the size but it looks like a medium.
