Here is a vintage Fibre Metal hard hat. This includes the liner and battery powered light. I got the light to work. But then it shut off. I'm pretty sure there is a loose wire somewhere and/or the battery contacts need to be cleaned. But, I know it will work because when I put batteries in the case and moved the wires around, the light came on, but then went back off. Also.something did hit the side of the helmet! I pushed on it and it does not seem to be cracked, but if you intend to use this, you MUST have a professional look at this. If nothing else, you can use the liner and light from this hat. So may be from 1930s- 40s or earlier) All the rubber on the cuffs and neck is gone or falling off. The suit itself isn’t too bad as far as rips go. In fact it’s not too bad. If you want to stuff this and hang it in your shop that would be fine. You could even take some rubber inner tube and“restore” the rubber on the cuffs and neck to where it might look OK from a distance. This suit is as hard as a rock. I’m soaking it in water right now trying to soften it. But it has a long ways to go. When I get it out of the water I’m going to roll it up and let it dry out. Normal 0 Antique Hard Hat Diver’s Boots Boots are in very good shape for their age(I guess they’re from the 1920s-30’s on? The leather isn’t ripped anywhere and you could probably still dive in them. They are leather with lead soles. They have buckles as well as lacing holes. Each has a foam-type bootee inside(and the booties read 10 Made in Korea) I believe the person wore a size 10 shoe. But I’m certain they made these boots to fit a lot of feet. I do not think for second the boots are Korean. Just the foam bootees) I could not find a name anywhere. If you’re an expert and tell me where to look I will. They bottoms measure a max length of 14” long by max width of 4 ¾” The pair weighs appx. 40 pounds. Hence the postage. I have up for auction today one vintage JACKSON PRODUCTS SAFETY HAT(TYPE SH-1) that I think dates back to the 1960s on the side of the helmet is a sticker that reads Always Safety 67 NCSA National Crushed Stone Association. Plus it has the name of R. White on the helmet. This helmet is yellow(the pics make it look more to the white side but its a yellow helmet) There are some Dings and nicks in the brim of this helmet from being used. Plus a hole has been punched in the back of the brim that a wire has been put through to hang the helmet up. The internal straps seems to be in good condition. The helmet shows wear from being used. B.F. McDonald CO USMC2 aprox 1930's 40's vintage coal miner hard hat
I picked this up recently at an estate sale. The Dad at one time used to work the coals. This is a vintage coal miner hat from(best guess) 1930's or 40's maybe 50's. Patents Pending B.F. McDonald Co. Los Angeles stamped underneth. Us Patent number 2177145 also has numbers D118432 and 2248365 stamped below. has USMC2 stamped on one side underneath. I cant find any markings on top. Leather straps inside are old but unbroken. For a hat pushing possibly 100 yrs old this is in really good shape. Has normal wear which is expected. This hat was used and I took alot of pictures so please look closely. Hat is about 13in x 11in x 5in. I will combine shipping and am selling a few more items i got at the sale as well.
