Out of a South Florida estate comes this unusual variety Skullgard hard hat. This is a vintage hard that was issued during 1943 WWII. It has the USS United States Steel red dot logo on it but it also has an unusual version of the American Bridge Company Logo/Lettering The common version is spelled AB but this one has it spelled ABCo The helmet is in excellent condition with a well intact liner. I am guessing it has some age, the estate where it came from, the man is 96, and retired probably at least 30 or more years ago. He was a sheet metal instructor at a technical school in Minneapolis. Probably needed it when going out to jobbsites related to school apprenticeship/ instruction of students. Mine Safety Appliances Co Pittsburgh PA 12” by 10 1/2” Approx. 6” tall from bottom to top of safety helmet. Adjustable cradle. Cradle is plastic and some kind of fabric webbing. Item: 2 painted MSA Skullgard fiberglass hard hats- without head liners. Notes: They both have the previous owner's name on them. One of the paper labels inside the gray hard hat. Has a date of 1959. The white one has a date of 1981. They both also have a decal from Republic Steel. Size: 11 inches front to back. 8 3/8 inches side to side, and about 6 1/4 inches from top to bottom. Condition: Used condition. Both do not have headliners. The white hard hat has some scratches. Stains, faint musty smell, and dirt residue. The gray hard hat has more wear; scratches, scrapes, stains, damaged/ rusty headliner buttons, and a musty smell.

Vintage MSA Miners/ Firefighter Helmet Liner I don’t really know very much about this liner. But I think it’s a type K. It has adjustable webbing. It looks like it goes from a 6 7/8 up to a 7 5/8. It’s in good condition with no significant damages. It was repainted black somewhere along the way and has a field repair to the webbing(some wire tied to hold it together) Measures 10 `1/2 in. wide X 12 1/8 long and stands about 5 1/2 in. tall from brim to crown. Vintage 1930's 1940's 1950's Skullgard Hard Hat Type K Full Brim Oilcloth
This is a nice Skullgard hard hat made in Pittsburgh. PA. It is a Type K and I am unsure of how long these were made with this style of suspension and sweatband. The exterior paint has wear and scratches so the fiberglass can be seen in places. The oilcloth/ painted canvas sweatband shows wear. One section of exterior lace has broken. Brim measures 12" x 10.5" The hat is 6" tall.
