Looks like they could be cleaned but I have no idea how to and don't want to damage them. Overall these are in good condition and still have a lot of use in them. This auction features a very nice vintage(late 40's) Green"SuperGlas" full-brim fiberglas hardhat with full liner and support system. This hat was manufactured in the USA by Fibre-Metal Products Company, Chester, Pennsylvania. The original manufacturer's label is still pasted inside the front of the hat(see photo) and the embossed SuperGlas/Fibre-Metal logo is clearly included under the back brim of the hat(see photo) As extra provenance, the user's name and date(Morton 4/49) are included in a stick-on label on the front of the hat. This hard hat is in great condition. The green color is bright with light scuffs and scratches and minor paint drips on the surface. Consistent with the hat's age and use. Up for bid is this cool vintage full brim metal hard hat. It is made by Fiber Metal and is called a SuperLite. It has a liner with adjustable headband and is in good order. The only problem is the top has paint or some similar substance on it. I didn't try to remove it. I generally leave any kind of"patina" on items. Other than dust or easily removable dirt. If I'm correct I believe this hard hat is mid century 1950's- 1960's. Nice collectible with sticker.United Association Journeymen& Apprentices of the Plumbing& Pipe Fitting Industry of USA& Canada. There is a small dent on the top& marks scratches. The original strap was sewn together it had broke, but still usable. The original plastic insert is still attached along with a fabric band, which is flaking on the fabric.On the brim reads, Superlite by Fibre Metal. USA Chester, PA. Check out the knobs on each side.
