The ink has been lightly sanded off the letter to reveal contrast but will still work, if you actually have a press. The patina is preserved while making the letters pop. These are almost a hundred years old and will make a strong statement. The E is 3 1/4 inch the Q is2 and a half the U and T is two" and the a,L,I, and Y are 1 5/8" What is shown in the pics are exactly what you will receive. Up for auction is a lot of letterpress accessories. You will receive everything in the photos. There are two full sets of type. One is lower case, and the other is capital letters. There is also a set of numbers that includes punctuation. The type won't come organized, because I don't know how to do it. They are each separated in their box according to style. The three Wickershire Quoins are a big plus. Paper, ink, and all other items seen in the photos are included. I do not know the proper names of all of it. The type is in exceptional condition, only a few pieces have light ink on them. The photos really don't do it justice. It's a great set of letterpress accessories that anyone will enjoy. Up for auction is an Original WWII Japanese Type 30 Bayonet and Scabbard made by the Jinsen arsenal. This one is the 152nd series. Origanal Finish on the Pommel. Tang and crossguard is very good. The Unfullered Blued blade has very slight scabbard wear, No rust, No pitting, No sharpening. Wood Grips in good condition, 1 small chip in one grip. Release Button works freely. Nice Bamboo Wood Scabbard has a small crack by the tip, the string binding looks to have been repleced at some point, but looks old. ANTIQUE Oak Letterpress Printers WOOD TYPE CABINET made by Hamilton Mfg Co. Two Rivers. Wisconsin. The Cabinet is Oak and the drawers are original. The original paper Font identification index is still on the front of most of the drawers. The 25 drawers are extra wide at 44" wide x 23" deep(25" deep when the 2 inch"legs" at the back of the drawer are included) with a single wood separator bar down the center of the drawers. Most of the handles were missing or in bad shape- we added the matching Hamilton stamped metal Drawer Pulls. 2 per drawer for a total of 50 Handles. Exact date of the Cabinet is unknown. However, most likely early to mid 20th century. The dimensions of the Letterpress Cabinet are 49" wide, 50" tall, 27" deep. Upper Case Full Font(or nearly so) of Headline/Display Size Type- Approximately 3-5/16" Tall(20 pica) Over 100 Nice Pieces Including Letters and Punctuation. These Characters are in GREAT SHAPE! This font appears to be similar to Helvetica Compressed. A Great Find! This type has been used but the printing surfaces are very clean and the character edges are generally nice and sharp. A letter"C" has been trimmed for copy fitting. But the printing surface appear to be fully intact. This is a vintage set of wood type cut in a 6 line"Gothic" font containing 137 characters that are 1" high. There is a complete alphabet of upper case letters as well as some punctuation. Ampersand, stars and spacers. The groove on the back of the type was designed to fit the channel strips on"Showcard" presses and this also locks up as any wood type. Note the picture taken with fruit is to show that this bowl holds a lot of produce. Fruit is not included in this sale. These bowls are hand turned. Beautiful grain patterns make wonderful serving pieces. 6 Salad bowls are included and are 5" in diameter. There is a minor scuff in the large bowl. But oiling of this wood would reduce the appearance. The scuff is similar to a water mark on wood furniture. It is on the inside wall of the bowl and does not detract from the beauty of this piece. These letters were working pieces used by Dahlen many many years ago in their business. They were stored for many years until I recently acquired them. They have not been cleaned. And are dirty. There are some small black spots that appear on the letters. Those are spots from my camera, not on the letters. I have a number of large sets of various fonts that I have for sale. This has a working radio- AM only that is made to look like an old style wall telephone. There is a cord and plug that powers the radio- lifting up of the ear piece and the radio is turned on/off there are(2) knobs for the volume. One is missing- the hand crank on side changes the stations. The speaker is located in the bottom of the telephone housing the mouth piece and the bells on top are only for looks they serve no purpose. The radio/phone measures 18 1/2 inches High X 7 1/4 inches Wide X 5 1/2 ... moreinches deep- mouth piece and shelf make the depth 11 inches. The total weght is 9 lbs. 9.7 oz. There is not a year that it was manufactured anywhere that I can see- did not want to take the wood shell a part to see. There are some discoloration of the wood in places and there are some scratches and dents in the wood shell. there is a split in the wood where it was a reglued on the side that the ear piece hangs and can be felt from where the cord exits the wood to the bottom of wood panel.
