The adjustable stop is simply turned up or down to facilitate the thickness of the material being imprinted on so that optimum pressure is obtained. Kingsley Hot stamping machine redwood cabinet for type trays
This dovetailed redwood cabinet holds six trays of Kingsley boxed type. It is missing one of the rubber feet on the bottom. And has some unsightly tape on the top. There is a split in the rop right corner on the front, as I've tried to show in a picture. It doesn't seem to affect the utility of the cabinet, however. It doesn't weigh much, but requires a rather large box for shipping. If I have overestimated by more than $3 I will issue a refund. Up for auction is a vintage gold stamping machine. This is made by Franklin. It includes a 12 letter stamps. Some paperwork which includes the directions and a letter from the company. I do not know if this works or not as the cord is frayed so I won't even plug it in. It has a wood handle and base with a drawer. There is a roll of gold foil as well. Assortment of items used with a foil hot stamping machine. I had both Kingsley and Howard machines and sold them and found this cache of related items. About 100 rolls of foil. Many unused. Lots of colors. 3 boxes of type. One is labeled 12 pt Goudy. I don't know about the other two. I've tried to supply a closeup so you can see for yourself. One has a nice wooden box. The Goudy is in a sturdy plastic case and the third is plastic tray with cardboard top. All type is fairly well organized. The type holder is for a Howard machine but I think I used it on both. It has a wide open box which is good for monograms and large custom type and logos. There are a few pads, a box of spacers and some miscellaneous type. The price is worth it for the foil alone!

Then you must fill the empty spaces of the chase with a metal fillers, usually lead, copper, steel, aluminum, etc. A chase for a hot stamp machine is great to have. The table. Frame, and ram are very well designed for durability for repetitive stamping. There is no foil advancing with a gold magic machine. It is performed by pulling the foil from the spool over your work manually. Also there is no spring return when you pull down the handle, you must manually return the handle back up. Though I think this is not a problem, because even with a spring you would have to hold it anyhow, as not to let the handle snap back. The table has 2 tapped screw holes for Thumb Screws in the back that you can attach accessories to so you can line up your work. This is a nice hot press I did plug it in to let it heat up for the pictures. I have actually never used it. I purchased this for some leather gold stamping but it got sidetracked by a death in my family.
