Two miniature die-cast pencil sharpeners with original boxes(though boxes not in pristine condition) Guessing the blow torch is older(judging by no address on box) and guessing the printing press is from late 1960's judging by how the address is printed on the box. Prepress proofing(also known as off-press proofing) is a cost effective way of providing a visual copy without the expense of creating a Press Proof. If errors are found during the printing process on press it can prove very costly to one or both parties involved. Press time is the most expensive part of print media. The main objective of proofing is to produce either a soft or hard copy of what the final product will look like on press. Hard copy proofing usually involves ink-jet printing or other technologies(i.e. Laminate Proof to produce high-quality one-off copies of the production artwork. Soft proofing usually involves highly color accurate wide-gamut computer displays. The printed proof is a dispassionate simulation of the ultimate output- a CMYK press sheet. The mission of a proofing system is to create accurate predictions. Not pretty pictures. In the best conditions the proofing process will actually try to emulate the effects of the printing press through color management and screening techniques, which can be quite challenging because proofing devices may behave and operate quite differently than

Winner gets an original circa 1840's wood printing block depicting an Acorn Printing Press manufactured by the Cincinnati Type Foundry. This was a very rare and expensive cast iron press invented by Otis Tufts in the early 1940's. This print block may have been used to advertise this new piece of technology. This block belongs in a museum. I guarantee you will not find one of these again! The block measures 2.75" x 3.75" and is in excellent condition for it's age. There is no major damage. All reasonable offers will be considered. This Rare"Superior" presses appear to be copies of presses made by the Victor Press Company. Which was absorbed by Kelsey Company in the early 20th Century. This will be dismantled and shipped in two separate boxes due to its weight this item weighs over 160 lbs Craftsmen Machinery Company produced presses very similar to the most popular presses of the small-press era. In fact. They were nearly identical copies. Furthermore, Craftsmen seems to have used the original Sigwalt, Caxton, Golding, Victor and other defunct manufacturer's presses as the casting patterns for the presses shown in this 1955 catalog. A comparison of an original Victor Press Company 4x6 press in our collection with the Craftsmen 4x6"Victory" press shown below shows a 1% difference in size. 1% is the amount ... moreof shrinkage normally associated with cast-iron production. To us. This confirms the theory that Craftsmen presses are direct copies of other popular presses from the turn of the century. Antique Vintage Cast Iron Small Salesman Sample? Desk Table Top Printing Press
Very good condition with one exception there is a crack one one side of the handle. Shown in pics, it's a clean break and could be repaired, handle still functions properly. There are a few letters in it. Can not detect maker's mark, there is a previous owner's inscription on tape dated 1922. 4.25" x 7.25" x 3" w/ handle down 6.5" w/ handle up.
