The ink has been lightly sanded off the letter to reveal contrast but will still work, if you actually have a press. The patina is preserved while making the letters pop. These are almost a hundred years old and will make a strong statement. The E is 3 1/4 inch the Q is2 and a half the U and T is two" and the a,L,I, and Y are 1 5/8" What is shown in the pics are exactly what you will receive. Vintage / Antique Letterpress Wood Printer's Type Word "KISS" - 2"
These are from the Salt lake county. Utah press. It was commissioned in 1920 so these have seen a lot of prints. The ink has been lightly sanded off the letter to reveal contrast but will still work, if you actually have a press. The patina is preserved while making the letters pop. These are almost a hundred years old and will make a strong statement. Letters total 2 and 1/4" wide and 2" tall the 2's are a half inch wide and the K is 5/8ths wide all four blocks are two inches tall. What is shown in the pics are exactly what you will receive. this lot of 72 piece wooden letterpress western or wanted poster print type block letters. COMPLETE alphabet set with lost of duplicates from A to Z and all numbers 0 to 9 with lots of duplicates and a few punctuation. Each block measures 1 5/8" tall and are in good condition with normal wear from age. There is also a set of numbers that includes punctuation. The type won't come organized, because I don't know how to do it. They are each separated in their box according to style. The three Wickershire Quoins are a big plus. Paper, ink, and all other items seen in the photos are included. I do not know the proper names of all of it. ANTIQUE Oak Letterpress Printers WOOD TYPE CABINET made by Hamilton Mfg Co. Two Rivers. Wisconsin. The Cabinet is Oak and the drawers are original. The original paper Font identification index is still on the front of most of the drawers. The 25 drawers are extra wide at 44" wide x 23" deep(25" deep when the 2 inch"legs" at the back of the drawer are included) with a single wood separator bar down the center of the drawers. Most of the handles were missing or in bad shape- we added the matching Hamilton stamped metal Drawer Pulls. 2 per drawer for a total of 50 Handles. Exact date of the Cabinet is unknown. This listing is for one lot of 40 random vintage lead alloy metal and wood letterpress print type mixed font/size block letters and numbers as pictured( may not be a complete alphabet or number set. Random 40 selected- guaranteed at least 5 wood type blocks per lot) These print type blocks are loose(not fixed in place) and measure from approx. 1/2" to 1 3/4" tall(majority are at least 1" tall) They are in as found condition with normal wear from age but overall are in good shape.
